“Ireland as a place is full of history, questions and curiosities for its many visitors however its border between the UK and Irish Republic is a unique place in its own right.” See Bridie Lewis’ (@bridielewis_) Yer Not In The North Now Ya Know - Link in bio - #thentherewasus
As a mom I know that it's in the moments of living life we want to freeze time and yet it's going by so fast we don't even think about it before it's past.
We are all told to be present, fully present with our kids. Which is so hard these days with the constant distraction of our phones and the noise of social media (the irony of this post is not lost on me). I'm multi-tasking as I write this.
But what if I gave you permission for one day, to not feel pressured into documenting the moment yourself or feel obligated to get all dressed up for family photos? What if you could just go about your day, with the people you love, in the space you call home and just be. Be you and I'll just come along for the ride. #mainephotographer#documentaryphotography#familyphotography
ECHOES: (@milkyselects) An interesting aspect of photography, more specifically street photography, are echoes of detail and content between two photos. Take these to photos I captured on a gloomy afternoon in downtown LA as an example. They tell two completely different stories and yet compliment each other structurally, metaphorically, and aesthetically. But that is just my opinion. What are your thoughts?
Every teacher parent conference for my spitfire first born has gone like this: Katie freaks out in advance to mentally prepare herself for failing to properly raise her first daughter, teachers rave over said daughter, Katie cries tears of joy. My baby. She’s only in the first grade and I can clearly see my fear & lack of self worth. I’m way too hard on myself, and quite honestly, way too hard on her. Just for today, I vow to be kind to myself. All the love will trickle down into all my other relationships if I’m simply kind to myself.
