Bit of a busy day - it’s the TORCH Collaboration in Theatre Symposium, and I’m going along to tell people about the Spouting Club workshop I ran this weekend - practical research at work! Gonna have to time my talk and get brutal if it’s too long - I only have five minutes! (Today is also the first teaching & careers seminar - eeep!) 📷: @themirrorcrackd #studygram#oxford#spoutingclub

With his #Doctorate degree in #ClinicalPsychology , he decided to turn some of his #professional training, experiences and philosophies into a #business that draws on principles of social #psychology , cognitive/affective psychology and industrial/organizational psychology (IO) in order to improve marketing strategies for businesses and individuals. #DiamondsInTheRough Consulting #specializes in brand awareness, client acquisition, public relations, and developing creative and unique events that assist with marketing initiatives. Dr. Dave is also an #expert on the subject of Soul Mates, largely due to the dissertation he wrote on the subject. This dissertation is one of the foundational research studies in clinical psychology on the concept, seeing that little research has been conducted on this topic. As a result, he is known as an expert on soul mates and a #pioneer of some of the clinically based models and theories on the subject. Dr. Pulley is a #clinical#psychotherapist with over 16 years of experience in the field and 5 years in private practice. His experience includes teaching, training, counseling, speaking, group facilitation and supervising. However, his research and extensive experience gives him expertise in the area of #relationships and relationship issues. Dr. Pulley has extensive experience in inter-relations consulting. He has developed models geared towards helping people understand themselves, their developmental level and their tendencies in mate selection. David offers these services as a supplement to therapy for working with those who would like to enhance their #selfesteem . He also does speaking engagements and events based on the models. #Hu
Acute Hamstring Tear Treatment Goals
🏋🏼♂️🏃🏽♂️ Injuries to the hamstring muscles in the back of the thighs are extremely common on all levels of athletic competition. -
They account for up to 29% of all lower extremity injuries across all sports and represent an important cause of back of the thigh and buttock pain. An acute hamstring injury can commonly occur during exercise, but can also be the result of a fall or other accident. People with suspected hamstring injuries typically experience sudden pain at the back of the thigh with associated weakness
1️⃣Reduce any further bleeding/inflammation
3️⃣Ultrasound to improve circulation
4️⃣Prevent Motion Loss
If you suspect you may have a strained/torn hamstring consult your medical physician immediately.
The most important thing I learned this semester was how to study. I can confidently say I did not know how to effectively study until just recently.
Many of you asked how I specifically study for my exams...here is what I do for each of my exams:
1- If I do not understand the notes by just reading them I re-listen to the lectures and annotate my professor’s notes.
2- Once I’ve gone over the entire tests material at least once, I start making a detailed study guide/ charts and diagrams to help me understand the material. Often times upperclassmen have diagrams and charts they hand down and that is always a tremendous amount of help!
3- I go through all the professor’s objectives and make sure I did not overlook any major topics.
4- Write, write, and write. I can not grasp the information if I do not physically write it out, but that’s just me. I like my notes to be pretty and color coded so that they are easily able to be read later on.
5- On the day of the exam, I arrive at school at around 6am and review my study guides and any practice questions for 4-5 hours until the exam starts.
I hope this helps at least one of you out! Let me know what study habits work best for you below! 💊📚🖌
Had a meeting with my supervisor about what comes next. I have a list of books to look up to get me started - it turns out that all my assumptions about eighteenth century miscellanies are ALL WRONG, so reading is just what the doctor (or professor) ordered. #studygram#oxford#autumn
To those of you who somehow miss my face - there it is 😉 And to those of you who somehow read my captions - this is going to be the long one 🙈 •
Yesterday was a very special day. For the very first time I attended #swpswroclaw in a double role - as both #lecturer and legit #phdstudent 💪🏻 Legit, cause my relationship with my #doctorate is well... Complicated 😉 I started to work on my first project in 2010, then on the other one in 2014. None of it worked out. I guess I‘m pretty good at starting things. And here I am - starting something new again 🤪 But this time I have no choice - my #phd MUST end successfully! I must say that I was pretty anxious with this #hybrid role. Being the teacher and the student at this same place is pretty interesting experience. Also because of the fact that some of my former studens have now become my classmates 😉 And that scared me too. Unnecesserly. I came back home #pumped and almost in a state of #hypomania because of all the #goodvibes I received both from my students and from my new companions of the #phdjourney - thank you all so much 🙏🏻 I know this #journey won’t be easy. Especially in the #dogdays when my #DarkPassenger will show up and I know he will one day. He always comes. He also always walks away. Sometimes with a little help of my dear old friend #prozac but he does walk away 😉 Anyway, wish me luck and keep your figers crossed for me finishing my thesis •
And now - why I wrote all of these? Because I think that #visibilitymatters and sharing your struggles with others is crucial to spread #mentalhealthawareness and #stopthestigma of #mentalillness
I also know that among you there are people who appreciate that I speak openly about the fact that I am the #mentalhealthsurvivor and I am not ashamed of it 💪🏻 Plus, my whole #researchproject is about how #depression is perceived by the sociaty, so I guess I might consider myself as fully consistent 😉 •
Thanks for listening 🖤

Not only did I PASS but I also managed to incorporate the words piddle-paddle, pish-posh, gibroni (which I don’t think anyone understood) and referenced RuPaul. I also may have said that the French Revolution was “not pleasant.” Much love to my five mentors, friends and family who have all supported me in this ridiculous journey. I have so much to be thankful for. #dma#uscthornton#kca#oralexamination#doctorate#piano#collaborativepiano
