This is Paul Daufen. When I moved to California, he was one of very very few people I had even met here. He was on the youth staff at church, and throughout my senior year, he was someone I looked up to a lot.
I started working the media department at church. On several of the major projects per year, I had the chance to work with Paul. He's one of the hardest working, funniest, overall-best people you could possibly have on your team. He can diffuse high-stress situations, make immediate connections with people, and basically do anything you need to make a production happen. After a couple projects, it became abundantly clear that Paul was one of the most important assets to our team.
Honestly, I can't say enough good things about this guy. He's one of my closest friends and one of the best people I know. We've pulled a lot of long days and late nights on projects together, and his passion for getting things done is intoxicating; but beyond the projects, his love for Jesus, the church, and people is even more intoxicating.
Today, Paul and his wife Amy make the move to Tennessee, and I'd be lying if I said I didn't almost cry a few times today. Paul, thanks for everything—for telling me I was an idiot when I was being a complete and total idiot, for believing in my stupid ideas and helping me accomplish them, for praying for me, for giving me advice about life, for helping me grow spiritually, for making me laugh uncontrollably, for saying the things nobody else would say. I'm gonna miss you, bro. See you soon.
