The fun and exhaustion of wedding coordinating is always so rewarding! I never tire of making these days beautiful for my brides! Abby was so graceful as the rain changed some of our plans, but the alternative turned out to be stunning as well! #cadehasabbs
Why is it a random bathroom selfie turns out to be one of your favorite pictures of yourself?! Is it typical Instagram worthy, no, but as someone who has been so critical of myself, who cares right?! Loving yourself is way more important. In this week of being thankful, I am extremely thankful of the person I’m becoming. I’m especially thankful for you!!! 😘😘
😍😍 swipe to see the before. I made this door as a slider for our old laundry room, loved the color but so excited to upgrade for this space! Loving the bright pink with dark grey walls!
The @thenester cozy minimalist room makeover continues! Also, I finally actually ordered the @ruggable

Good Monday evening! We are getting closer to getting upstairs and yet so many delays and more delays.
But instead of griping, or hashing out the discouraging details, I would much rather introduce our latest member of our cottage family: meet Joshua!
Our French chandelier is now up, lit, and watching over all below. We named him Joshua after Joshua 1:9 Be strong and courageous. Joshua took over for Moses, after Moses died, Joshua had to be strong and courageous to continue God’s work.
And our beautiful chandie rests high above while lighting the way below. A good reminder that God will give us strength and courage as we do His work.
I so look forward to that “someday” when I finally wake up in this room, look up, and see our Joshua overhead.
I did a little research and the medallions on our French chandelier are from The Order of Knights Templar! A religious military army founded early 12th century and played an important part of The Crusades.
After studying my chandelier, it definitely was made for candles and then much later electrified. The iron circle of candle holders easily lifts off its hooks for candle changing/cleaning.
I don’t have facts about its age, but I’m going to guess from its heavy, rudimentary, forged iron, it is mid- 1700’s. Only a guess - mostly based on my other chandelier that is way more ornate and also French. My other chandie dates late 1600’s and came out of a church.
I have so many plans for up here. It’s basically a blank canvas - but my vision is busy painting a complete picture in my head.
Wishing you a night where your dreams are sweet and your sleep even sweeter. Thank you for taking time to stop by my friends.
PS: this dandy chandie eye candy came from @oldworldantieks - please stop by and get an eyeful and say howdy for me!!!🙂
Woohoo!!! It’s a short week at work, Christmas is in the air and we’re getting closer and closer to a finished home. •
Dave’s awesome brother stayed home from his Thanksgiving trip a couple extra days to help Dave go to town on the house! 🙏They’ve been working all day hanging doors, trim and baseboard upstairs!! 😍🙌 Pictured here is Ben’s room with baseboards up and his pocket-door to the kids’ jack-and-jill bathroom up and ready to go! 🚪🚪🚪
Took the day off today to spend time with a friend, Doug, who has a chainsaw mill. It was a fantastic sunny Seattle day, so all the better. We slabbed Dogwood, Birch, Madrona and Chestnut. Stihl chainsaw made easy work out of those hardwoods. Good fun in the sun and piles of sawdust. 👍 we still have more slabs to cut, but we'll save that for another day. Now to figure out what to make.
