Our celebratory dessert of choice is this delicious chocolate galette, a French chocolate cake with a crust made of finely ground almond flour and a chocolate mousse as rich as can be. Stir fried greens with walnuts.
A delicious side or dish all by itself, with or without rice noodle. 🍽
Stir fry leeks and finely sliced red and green chilli in a little of the oil of your choice until soft and tender. Add walnuts and radish and toss. Toss through some rough chopped leafy greens and hoisin sauce (option; vegans could switch for sweet soy). If you are adding noodles, now is the time to toss them through, having prepared them according to instructions. Top with fresh chopped herbs.
Not so behaving on a Sunday, but when the peaches and the blueberries are as happy and delicious as they were at the farmers market this wknd, you’re forced to make a “just because” pie👩🏾🍳. Can ration and most will go to work...I think🙂. My @joythebaker peach blueberry pie, but tried out @alisoneroman #DiningIn crust this time around. Dying to crack into it, but still cooling. I know...semi-fell off that wagon again and rounded out the @queereye binge😏 I’m hooked!

celebrated my mommas birthday (a day early) by whipping her up some fajita chicken skewers, Mexican street corn and grilled pineapple 😍 and yes it tasted just as good as it sounds

•chicken breast marinated in avocado oil, lime juice, lime zest, cumin, chili powder, paprika, garlic, salt, pepper
•chopped multi-color bell pepper, red onion and zucchini
MEXICAN STREET CORN:
•shucked corn grilled •light sour cream, Greek yogurt, Old El Paso taco seasoning packet, parmesan cheese, salt, lime juice •sprinkle of parm and cilantro to garnish

Yesterday afternoon I baked these Salted Butter and Chocolate Chunk Shortbread cookies from @alisoneroman’s DINING IN. I have never been particularly good at balance, and as I put the finishing touches on my thesis, I find myself wanting to hide away, to find ways to get out of my own head. I’m turning to cooking and baking, something that is, in the words of Eve Sedgwick, so *not* writing. These cookies may not have turned out perfectly, but home cooking has room for imperfection, and the process let me go somewhere else for a little while. Things turn out okay in the end.
Thanks to a wonderful gift from dear friends, I have been able to delight my husband tonight with Singapore style chilli crab, complete with sweet white dinner rolls, just the way they serve it in Singapore. Now I need to change the tablecloth, mop the floor, and we both need to change! 😂
