I say this often to clients..... you could be eating a 100% pure, clean, organic diet but there are several other factors that come into play as to whether you getting all the potential goodness in that amazing food. Proper digestion is vital.
Some of the factors you might want to look into are daily stress levels, low stomach acid/PH, enzyme action and overall digestive organ and microbiome health. It’s a complex system that needs all the components working well to properly function.
Stress is highly detrimental over time, and will literally shut off digestion, pulling blood and other actions away from the digestive system as a response to increased adrenaline and cortisol. We truly should never eat when rushed or stressed.
As we age, secretion of stomach acid can drop creating challenges with digestion and enzyme action, particularly with digestion of proteins. This is where alterations with betaine HCL and digestive enzymes can possibly help make up differences.
You also need to look at ways to nourish your gall bladder, liver, pancreas and microbiome health to be sure those systems are healthy and working to facilitate vital digestive actions.

Simple meal that is a repeat of what I had earlier this month. Salmon cooked in butter, cooked frozen broccoli with butter, and sweet potato fries with (you guessed it) butter.
My eating has been quite random lately. Making healthier choices feels like second nature now. I don't feel restricted for once in my life. I'm just making choices and trying to figure things out with as little stress as possible.

The short answer is the European Union has banned synthetic growth hormones, GMOs, many pesticides and preservatives, resulting in foods that are less toxic and cause less gastrointestinal distress. The European Union is far more concerned with the side affects of these chemicals than the U.S. which is extremely disappointing and terrifying.
The main issue I have with gluten and dairy, is the pain and discomfort I get after eating it. It’s crazy to think that it may not actually be the gluten and the dairy causing the gastro issues, it’s all the chemicals dumped into them that are then being digested and absorbed into my body.
I still believe though that gluten and pasteurized dairy can cause deeper issues and inflammation for people with Lyme, thyroid, autoimmune diseases, etc. I let myself have this freedom knowing it was temporary, but still aware that it could possibly cause some issues to my thyroid or aggravate my Lyme.
I hope this post can help people be more aware of all the chemicals we are faced with daily, and realize that we can’t fully trust the FDA. It’s hard for me to understand how we can watch other countries lead the way and ban harmful chemicals, yet there are people in our country who turn a blind eye and don’t follow their lead. We need to keep being our own advocates for our health and keep educating ourselves. 🤓📕🐛

Quick post! #WATERFACTS ! Are you getting enough water? Chances are... you’re not. #Elimination , #lymphaticflow , #digestion , #brainfunction ... all rely on: #hydration ! If one of these things is out of whack, you might want to try your water intake. Here are some quick water facts to keep you on your game:
You need “1/2 your body weight in oz. per day”... three liters for an adult female/four liters for an adult male, and an additional L for every hour of exercise (this goes for healthy weight) is best. Make sure you’re adding adequate #electrolytes to your water (#potassium , #magnesium , #sodium , #calcium ) to stay optimally #hydrated . This can be done with a flavorless powder, like pH adjust (amazon). A pinch of #PinkHimalayanSalt will do the trick, too.
Adding lemon to water will give it a nice, #alkalineboost . Warm lemon water in the AM is stimulating to the #lymphaticsystem , and good to generate #peristalsis .
Mineral waters like @topochicousa , @perrier , and @sanpellegrino_official along with @fijiwater have high contents of silica. #Silica pulls #aluminum out of the body, binds to it, and eliminates it. It’s a nice, natural #heavymetaldetox !
The body can really only absorb ~250 mL of water at a time. Don’t chug your water!
