PLAN YOUR MEALS AND EAT WHAT YOU PLAN:

If I have to make too many decisions in a day my brain gets FRIED.
So I cut down on as many as I can.
Steve jobs, Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook guy): they all wear (wore) the same thing everyday.
I think they eat (ate) the same breakfast everyday too.
Their reasoning is to save the decisions for the important stuff. You know, like decisions that led them to building billion dollar companies…
To get and maintain a nice, happy, healthy Microbiome (good bugs in our large intestine) you want to aim for a variety of FORTY DIFFERENT PLANT FOODS each week.

How to achieve this without exhausting your brain?
You could draw up a table for the week, slot in all your fruits / veggies / grains that you know make you feel good.
Buy those foods.
Eat those foods.
Then all those decisions about what you’re going to eat for the week are already made.
And when the time comes you don’t need to go through the whole “I’m so hungry, but I don’t know what to eat” debacle.

And I didn’t realize how much my stress was impacting my health until I needed serious repair.
Besides my relationships…
My sleep suffered. Weight went up. Melasma started coming back. My knees and hips started swelling again. I was crying on the daily.
My husband was worried about me—and so was I.
I realized I had to do things differently. I had to look at success in a new way.
Here’s the truth…even if you don’t think you’re stressed…even if you’re not a worrier, or you don’t have fear or anxiety…
It’s not just about stress. It’s about turning it off. It’s about building joy.
It’s about taking care of YOU.
Your message, your ambitions to change the world won’t matter if you can’t get out of bed.

Do you have heartburn? Is it caused from too much or too little stomach acid?
In my experience many people suffer from too low stomach acid - food sits in the stomach far too long, food is not being digested allowing it to bubble and froth, essentially turning it to vinegar.
Stress, poor diet, aging, and medications are some reasons for decreased stomach acid.
Apple Cider Vinegar is a great way of testing for too little or too much stomach acid.
Either before, during or after a meal, (timing is different for everyone) place a teaspoon of ACV in a glass of water and drink it. If it makes you feel better, you most likely have too little stomach acid. The ACV will stimulate stomach acid, which will help with digestion.
On the other hand if you find that you feel worse with a burning sensation and irritation after taking the ACV you most likely have too much stomach acid which is literally burning the esophageal lining and chronic heartburn can lead to serious conditions. Too much stomach acid can be caused by H. Pylori, hiatal hernia, genetics, obesity and pregnancy.

FUN FACT FRIDAY: stomach acid can dissolve metal!
If the ph balance of your stomach acid is off, this can result in a series of health complaints. One of the most common being HEARTBURN. .
Did you know heartburn can actually be caused by low stomach acidity? Those little flaps between the stomach and esophagus close when the stomach acid reaches a certain acidity level. Chronic low stomach acid keeps the flaps open, which results in backsplash of stomach contents up into the esophagus, causing heartburn.
I have struggled with food cravings for most of my adult life! And in my late 30s I’ve struggled with a variety of health issues too. As I continue the journey to uncover what the heck is going on with me and find good health again, I am shocked to find that the cravings I’ve been struggling with for years may actually be my body‘s way of trying to tell me what’s going on.
