🔥How to Set up for a Contest Prep Diet
I have taken 2 years off dieting and am finally is a better position mentally and physically to do a show, the past two years have been crazy so I can now say with confidence that there are no foreseeable barriers that are likely to impede my prep.
Are you ready to compete?
My top 3 questions
1. Do you have any foreseeable events, distractions or potential stressors coming up in during the prep. I.e Are you about to buy a house, change jobs, have a holiday booked or big event? These things don’t make for an enjoyable prep. Timing needs to be right first and foremost.
2. Are you financially able to commit to show? People new to the sport don’t realize shows end up being thousands of dollars after taking into consideration costumes, bikinis, hair make up, tanning, travel, hotels, posing coaching, and your coaching fees.
3. Is your metabolism in a good place to start a diet? If you’re already doing double training days & you’ve been dieting within an 16 week period of your prep starting date, then I would strongly reconsider the show. Give your self time to get your metabolism in a good place so you have somewhere to go. If you’re already maintaining your weight on 1400 calories then the only way is DOWN, then you need to reverse diet. (See my 14 week Youtube series)
