I used to take so much pride in going to bed hungry. 
Because I was excited to see how much my body shrunk over night. 
I’d wake up in the mirror and gaze over my body to see if my stomach was a little flatter.

And I felt powerful. 
Like I was in control.

But your body doesn’t need you to control her. 
She doesn’t want to be manipulated.

She wants to thrive, and to support you. 
But how can she do that when you’re turning your back on what she needs by neglecting her? 
You will only come home to your body when you work as a team. 
So stop trying to run the show. 
Her only job is to keep you alive. 💗

I’m drooling over this 🥐🤤 I’ve been on a raw vegetable no sugar, no fat, no taste (lol) diet for the past two weeks (with little cheats here and there, not gonna lie...🙊). I admit, I lost a lot of weight and I feel better than I ever felt but at this point I’m a bit  sick of salads with lemon juice if you know what I mean. So we ordered a 🍕 tonight! Ooops... 🤫

Before getting all gung-ho on your next diet, let’s stop for a sec and evaluate.

Ask yourself the following:
1️⃣ is it sustainable in the long run? Not just for 30 days or 3 months...but like forever. 😉 If you don’t think you can follow the system longer than a couple months, probably should think twice about it. 
2️⃣is it flexible? Are you able to adapt it to your lifestyle? Or do you have to follow it to a T to get the results you want? 
3️⃣is it realistic? Are you depriving yourself of foods you love? Are you cutting out entire food groups? Having to count points or calories? 
4️⃣Is it so strict it’s stressing you out? Do you feel confident going out to eat without having to worry about what to order? Do you whole heartedly enjoy food or the program?
.
Your “diet” should be fun, flexible, simple, realistic to your goals and lifestyle, sustainable in the long run, enjoyable, all while getting the results you want.

I realize many of us like a plan to follow, the structure makes things a little more convenient because it takes the guess work out. We may not know where or how to start and it can be a little intimidating. There is sooo much conflicting information out there. That’s where a nutrition coach can come in handy 😉
.
Life is too short to follow a “diet” with so many rules and restrictions. It’s much easier to stick to the basics. Healthy whole, nutrient dense foods (leans meats, lots of fresh/frozen fruits and veggies, a variety of healthy fats) minimizing prepackaged, processed “food.” .
You deserve the best most abundant life. Not one restricted by dieting.

Eating to feed our bodies in a way that promotes a healthy weight and that helps our bodies stay free from disease does not have to be complicated. Most of us learned about what to eat to stay healthy from advertisements and from industries that influence public health guidelines in their efforts to sell more. The amount of conflicting information regarding nutrition is confusing. If you struggle with what to eat to stay healthy, the simplest piece of advice I can give you is to add more whole foods that are as close to their natural state as possible and to decrease the amount of highly processed food products. If you have 15 minutes, and access to Netflix, go and watch the episode called “Why Diets Fail”, from the Netflix original series called: Explained. If you are always looking for the next best diet or dieting product, these 15 minutes will be of interest to you!

Morning all! This morning we are taking a look at a strategy I use to help people lose fat and still enjoy their favorite foods. The idea here is 80/20.

So many times when people think about fat loss they think chicken and broccoli for eternity. The reality is that couldn’t be further from the truth.

You can still achieve your goals while having good nutrition 80% of the time. This is exactly what I do every single week! The 🥗 in this pic depicts whole, nutritious foods.

The key is accepting your goals will not come to reality overnight and it may take months, years to get there. Once that happens you can understand how enjoying some treats during the week won’t kill your progress.

After all life is too short to give up pizza and beer. I know I won’t do it; you shouldn’t either.

Did you know that when you’re craving chocolate, you’re actually craving carrot sticks?! And when you’re craving chips, what your body actually wants is a handful of spinach. And when you’re craving sweets, you actually want a handful of soil !!!???⠀

All sarcasm aside, there are a few things to note regarding ‘healthy swaps’⠀

1. We know some foods are more beneficial for our health than others.⠀
⠀
2. We also know we like to eat some foods which are less so because they’re tasty af.⠀
⠀
3. Denying yourself of certain foods is not only unnecessary, but also creates this 'forbidden fruit’ mentality. You want it more. Resulting in you ‘caving’ into your craving and eating approx 2x more of said food than you would have if you’d have just eaten it when you initially wanted it.⠀
⠀⠀
Of course eating higher energy foods in excess which don’t provide us with essential vitamins and minerals isn’t going to makes feel very good in terms of energy and overall #wellness. But they can ABSOLUTELY be included in your diet - no guilt, no earthy substitute needed.⠀

Har fått en del spørsmål om hva slags diett/treningsprogram jeg var på tidligere i vår, så tenkte jeg like gjerne kunne skrive litt om det. 
Opplegget er såpass detaljert at det blir altfor mye å skrive på insta, men dietten heter «The Ultimate Diet 2.0»(I know, kjempeteit navn) og er lagd av Lyle McDonald. -
Kort fortalt så sulter du deg samtidig som du trener for å tømme glykogenlagrene fra mandag-torsdag. Deretter har du en dag fri samtidig som du spiser helt usaklige mengder karbohydrater(typ 1200g og rundt 5-7000kcal) på fredag. 
Dagen etter carb-loaden følger en tung styrkeøkt, før det er cardio på søndag og helvetet starter på nytt igjen. -
Vil jeg anbefale dietten til noen andre? -Nei. Med unntak av fredagene er livet ganske jævlig, og øktene hvor du skal tømme glykogenlagrene ville jeg ikke engang unnet min verste fiende. -
Resultatene? 
Jeg startet på 13% kroppsfett og 84 kg og endte på 7,7% kroppsfett og 81,5kg etter 8 uker på diett. 
Målte meg med kaliper/parillo likningen, så det er selvfølgelig ikke helt nøyaktig, men jeg tror ikke det er så veldig langt unna realiteten. 
I tillegg hadde jeg en ganske drøy økning i styrke over de 8 ukene. Kjørte feks. benkpress to ganger i uken(en økt med 6-12 reps på 70-85% av 1RM og en økt med 3-6 reps på så tung belastning som mulig). Her startet jeg med 90 kg x 10 på økt 1, og 105 kg x 4 på økt 2 i uke 1. Endte på 100 kg x 8 på økt 1 og 120 kg x 3 på økt 2 i uke 8. 
Ganske imponerende mtp at jeg lå rundt 4200 kcal i underskudd per uke.

Hei!👋🏻 Har fått en del spørsmål om hva slags diett/treningsprogram jeg var på tidligere i vår, så tenkte jeg like gjerne kunne skrive litt om det. Opplegget er såpass detaljert at det blir altfor mye å skrive på insta, men dietten heter «The Ultimate Diet 2.0»(I know, kjempeteit navn) og er lagd av Lyle McDonald. - Kort fortalt så sulter du deg samtidig som du trener for å tømme glykogenlagrene fra mandag-torsdag. Deretter har du en dag fri samtidig som du spiser helt usaklige mengder karbohydrater(typ 1200g og rundt 5-7000kcal) på fredag. Dagen etter carb-loaden følger en tung styrkeøkt, før det er cardio på søndag og helvetet starter på nytt igjen. - Vil jeg anbefale dietten til noen andre? -Nei. Med unntak av fredagene er livet ganske jævlig, og øktene hvor du skal tømme glykogenlagrene ville jeg ikke engang unnet min verste fiende. - Resultatene? Jeg startet på 13% kroppsfett og 84 kg og endte på 7,7% kroppsfett og 81,5kg etter 8 uker på diett. Målte meg med kaliper/parillo likningen, så det er selvfølgelig ikke helt nøyaktig, men jeg tror ikke det er så veldig langt unna realiteten. I tillegg hadde jeg en ganske drøy økning i styrke over de 8 ukene. Kjørte feks. benkpress to ganger i uken(en økt med 6-12 reps på 70-85% av 1RM og en økt med 3-6 reps på så tung belastning som mulig). Her startet jeg med 90 kg x 10 på økt 1, og 105 kg x 4 på økt 2 i uke 1. Endte på 100 kg x 8 på økt 1 og 120 kg x 3 på økt 2 i uke 8. Ganske imponerende mtp at jeg lå rundt 4200 kcal i underskudd per uke. By no means does it require you tracking your food forever, but when you want to dial down on your fat loss or muscle gain or just check in with yourself while maintaining it makes sense to track your food 📱📱📱 -

6 months at least of being consistent with your tracking and you’ll be able to properly intuitively eat, and make food choices on the fly without tracking and know that you’re roughly still eating enough overall food volume to meet your body’s needs relevant to goal at the time. -

This is my 5th year of walking the path of moderation not deprivation and I’ve used my fitness pal on and off while shifting between various goals, competing, photo shoots and the like, and every day of this flexible journey it’s been me eating what I want to when I want to, and allowed me to crush it irrespective of travel or social events etc 🏆🏆🏆

Morning all! This morning we are taking a look at a strategy I use to help people lose fat and still enjoy their favorite foods. The idea here is 80/20.

So many times when people think about fat loss they think chicken and broccoli for eternity. The reality is that couldn’t be further from the truth.

You can still achieve your goals while having good nutrition 80% of the time. This is exactly what I do every single week! The 🥗 in this pic depicts whole, nutritious foods.

The key is accepting your goals will not come to reality overnight and it may take months, years to get there. Once that happens you can understand how enjoying some treats during the week won’t kill your progress.

After all life is too short to give up pizza and beer. I know I won’t do it; you shouldn’t either.

1️⃣ Increase fruit and veg intake - This is so important, especially when it comes to increasing fibrous vegetables. This is simply because it helps you feel full without adding excessive calories,  pretty cool hey! So, I aim to include vegetables or fruit with every meal to support this.

2️⃣ Reduce snacking - removing snacks which are high in sugar and calories from your environment can make a massive difference! If you don’t have it in the house, you can’t eat it! Also there are lots of low calorie snacks out there, such as 10 cal jellies which are amazing when dieting!

3️⃣ Remove junk food from your environment - if you don’t have it, you can’t eat it. Remove the temptation and set yourself up to win! Swap fruit for chocolate, water for fizzy drinks!

4️⃣ Keep busy and stay active - overeating often comes down to boredom. Sitting in the house surrounding by food, will lead to over eating. Keep busy, find a hobby you love, and move lots! This will dramatically reduce your calorie intake and increase your energy output. Win win!
