In the article doctors state that There IS a diet that helps with diabetes, one that restricts or severely restricts carbohydrates. Dr. Hallberg said, “If the goal is to get patients off their medications, including insulin, and resolve rather than just control their diabetes, significant carb restriction is by far the best nutrition plan. This would include elimination of grains, potatoes and sugars and all processed foods. There is a significant and ever growing body of literature that supports this method.”

Well today is more of a #celebration rather than #stresseating. Hubs didnt know, I just told him, I feel like going out and have #zanmai #japanesefood for a change

We both have been following this superfood program and we both achiving tremendous results and its not even a month. I, for one, with #healthyeating and #gymroutine, I can definitely see results faster. But my love here, he has actually lose more weight than he ever been- 5kg in 2 weeks? Isnt that amazing? Alhamdullilah, all we want is to #takecontrol of our health and be better parents to our kids and setting good examples for them ❤️

Mostly the celebration today for me is for my efforts and hard work in consistently guiding and consulting my diabetes patients in my clinic have paid off. Patients coming to me sharing good news with me, beaming proudly showing their sugar level results to me after seeing their doctors. I feel like a #proudparent. Some of them are like younger sister or brother, some are like my own uncles/aunts, who shared their tiniest bit of secret in the their daily eating schedule. I can know if they are sneaking something in their diet 😂 so they cant lie to me. And I can know it durian season or what McDonalds latest promo without me going out there to find out. Bcoz my patients will eat it first and it will pop up in their food diary. 😅 For last few weeks, my patients will come to me and ask, “please its #durian season, how much can I eat it?”. Do you think I will allow it? No?? 😈 Im not that cruel😂 Of course I can allow them but limit to 2 seeds only😅.

Next is #mooncake festival. How I know? Because I can see mooncakes popping out from their food diary 😆

My principal of good #glucosecontrol, always find the balance, all in moderation and enjoy food once a while, as long you can life healthy and happy as long as you want

The American Diabetes Association says walking lowers your blood sugar levels and your overall risk for diabetes. ⠀
Researchers at the University of Boulder Colorado and the University of Tennessee found that regular walking lowered blood pressure by as much as 11 points and may reduce the risk of stroke by 20% to 40%. ⠀
The New England Journal of Medicine found that those who walked enough to meet physical activity guidelines (30 or more minutes of moderate activity on 5 or more days per week) had a 30% lower risk of cardiovascular disease, compared with those who did not walk regularly. ⠀

Happy #transformationtuesday peeps! You get a comparison from June because I have no recent photos of myself 🤣 This was the day I delivered my second child. Since then, I’ve lost 55 pounds, gained (some) muscles, lost my chipmunk cheeks and double chin, and gained my health back! How incredible our bodies are for growing tiny humans! For them, I’m so thankful for the journey. 👋 🎉 😁 Meet Jacque!! 💗💪🤗 Our newest fitness coaching client at M2 Fitness! We are going to spotlight Jacque for the next 12 weeks and you guys will get an up close and personal view of her weight loss journey. Jacque has agreed to share her journey with the public and we are hoping her story will inspire at least one person! .
Jacque is a loving wife and mother and she is passionate about serving at her church. She has been battling high blood pressure for years, but very recently was diagnosed pre-diabetic. Jacque decided she is READY to make a change and sought out our help. Under her doctors supervision she has the layout of how her diet will be changed, and she has our help to keep her accountable and motivated 24/7. We will guide her every step of the way. Our hope is to reverse the diabetes diagnosis and high blood pressure!! 🤞 .
We are starting by teaching Jacque to accurately track her calorie intake. She will learn new healthy habits related to food. She is also attending our weekly bootcamps, plus will be doing our at home weekly workout and adding in a few walks on her own. Her starting weight is 211 pounds and her personal goal is to lose 20 pounds in 12 weeks. .
Follow us closely if you want to keep up with how Jacque is doing, watch her progress and cheer her on!! She’s an amazingly sweet and funny lady, and we are so excited to have her as part of the M2 Squad!!

When I talk about my journey from Dia-Bad to  or how I manage my diabetes, I'm usually also mentioning my Diahubby!

He is my diabetic support system! He wakes up to the sound of my test machine in the middle of the night and is handing me hypo treatment before I even say a word. He sits whilst his food is getting cold and counts carbs in my meal and then works out my doses. He won't eat a sweet treat unless he knows I am willing to bolus to have one too. He inserts my @dexcom because I'm too much of a wimp to do it myself. He puts up with my emotional highs and my angry lows. And is genuinely the best  I could ever ask for!

I refer to my diabetic support as Type F's, "F" for friends and family. Alot of people refer to their diabetic supports as type 3s but did you know that is actually a title that has been given to Alzheimer's diseases which results from resistance to insulin in the brain (@diabetescouk)

Our Fijian friends are shocked at how much sugar is in their fruit “juice” (a product that’s more like soft drink). Tomorrow we’ve been asked to give a presentation at the local sugar company... oh the irony! What can possibly go wrong, huh? 😬🍭✋🏾

PROMOTING WEIGHT LOSS instead of HEALTH should be a CRIME!  This picture is the representation that skinny DOES NOT = HAPPY nor HEALTHY. I know what my body is capable of and how skinny I can get. Truth is in this photo I seem happy, but I was a mess. I remember like it was yesterday when I bought that dress for Halloween, I felt fat & ugly ( body dysmorphia) ... I was suffering inside. I was struggling to keep afloat and I was a month into drinking green tea like 3 times a day to be more thin and having food “limitations”. I dropped as low as 108lbs a couple months after. I categorize that period of time with POOR mental health and horrible self esteem. Let’s call it for what it is, I was SICK. I’m posting this bc by no means am I promoting weight loss as “INSPIRATION” through this account, truth is I’m happy in my body and most importantly my mind. Introducing our amazing Transform Coach, Carol! Carol has worked in the health and fitness industry for over 16 years from managing 4 gyms and teaching 15 group fitness classes per week to personal training and coaching hundreds of clients in reaching their weight loss and health goals.

As a stroke survivor of 20 years, with a family history of diabetes and heart disease, Carol does everything she can to live a long, disease-free life. Carol  used to be 75lbs heavier and by eating whole foods and exercising smarter, she  has kept the weight off for over a decade. She stays active by running 15k per week, lifting weights 3x a week and practicing yoga 1x a week. She has a gym in her home and finds peace running trails in the woods.  At 52 and a grandmother, Carol is healthier than she has ever been!

Diabetes prevention is very important to Carol, "My daughters lost their father to diabetes. My mother was diabetic. My husband is diabetic. I am passionate about teaching others that they can live a disease-free life if they just make a few lifestyle changes. Eating a healthy diet and being more active are really strong weapons in fighting disease. Finding what works for each person is key. There will be highs and lows and I am there to support my Transform participants through it all. I don't view being a coach as a "job", but rather a privilege to help someone experience a higher quality of life through better health." 💪🏼

I’m a big believer in leaving inspirational messages for my kids. When they were little I’d write it on a piece of paper and leave it on their beds or I’d use erasable marker and write it big on their bathroom mirrors.  Now that they’re older, I usually text it to them. 
Mine are not always your typical message .... like this one from last week that I sent to my daughter...but they still get my message across.🤣🤣🤣 Do any other mamas send their kids inspirational messages? And are they slightly “different” like this one? 🤣
