Although I’d rather have RB #ChristianMcCaffery in fantasy due to the importance of RBs, Cam Newton is definitely the safest bet to finish near the top of his position. Despite a slow start, Cam Newton actually managed a top-3 finish at the QB position in 2017. Now with TE #GregOlsen healthy and additions of #TorreySmith and 1st round pick #DJMoore at WR to go along with #DevinFunchess , Newton has one of the best weapon arsenals of his career. The biggest problem with the Panthers’ offense is the offensive line. The right side is very strong, however they are very weak everywhere else, especially after they lost LG #AndrewNorwell to the Jaguars via free agency. That’s going to hurt Newton, but it definitely helps that he’s mobile enough to escape some potential sacks. In 2018, I’m expecting a more efficient season from Newton, leading to him having a 60%+ completion rate for the first time since 2013. I’m expecting this jump from 2017’s 59.1% completion percentage mainly because of the return of Greg Olsen, who’s been Newton’s most reliable target throughout his career. Also, the ability to check down to McCaffery is a huge help for any QB. What makes Newton such a valuable asset to own in fantasy is his rushing ability. He’s one of the best dual-threat QBs of all time, and his rushing numbers reflect that. He was tied for the most rushing TDs of any QB last year (6) along with #DakPrescott , who will have trouble matching his 2017 total since #EzekielElliott will be able to play all season Barron an injury. As long as the offensive line holds up, I expect Cam Newton to have a very solid season and potentially finish as a top-5 fantasy QB for the second year in a row.
Runner Up: Christian McCaffery

It might still be a little too early to judge this draft class, but it’s the draft class of the future for the Carolina Panthers. Shaq Thompson will look to replace Thomas Davis as the Panthers premier outside linebacker this upcoming season, Devin Funchess is on the verge of being our true #1 wide receiver, and the front office has made it a priority to lock up second-team All-Pro Daryl Williams as our franchise right tackle with a multi-year extension. This draft also gave us a high quality backup linebacker in David Mayo and a reliable runningback option in Cameron Artis-Payne. I believe this is the only draft class the Panthers have had where there isn’t a single bust thus far, and they will only improve in the upcoming seasons.
