New week, new me. Well... actually same me but who’s checking? 🤗
Fun Fact: the “set design” from this shoot was taken from a giant pile of Miami-sidewalk-found-objects 🚽⚱️📺🗑 that were placed as an art installation 🎨 at my studio complex.
After tearing thru it, we got in 🗣trouble & had to figure out how to put it all back tgthr again... It was literally a garbage puzzle!

I recently had a conversation with my 5-year-old nephew. He wondered who the fastest runner is in the WORLD! Eventually, he got around to his mommy. She loves to run and it made sense for him to give her the benefit of his wonder. I let him down easy. I told him that while she loves to run, it isn’t the most important to her. I asked him, “what do you think is more important to your mommy than running?” With no hesitation, this child looked at me and answered, “Jesus”. My role in helping @sunnybrookstw design their new branding package was to bring an idea to fruition. What I see in the design may be different from what others will. A design isn’t going to change someone’s experience of God. How they respond to a message isn’t effected by fresh branding. My hope, however, is that if it reminds someone of the open doors of the church, it is good. If it reminds them to look toward the cross, it is important. If it reminds them of the ultimate sacrifice, of His greatness and our smallness, it matters.
I grew up surrounded by many of the people of this church, and now we have returned as adults with children of our own. I’ve been challenged more and grown deeper still since our return. That isn’t always easy or fun. It’s a gut check from time to time. God meets us where we are, but...He doesn’t leave us there. That’s how I know I’m in the right place. I’m not interested in staying put.
The honor of this design was mine. It was something I will always be grateful for. ❤️ #brandingdesign#brandingpackage#sunnybrookcc#stillwaterok#church#logodesign#customdesign#designerlife#perspective
It’s hard to believe it’s that time of year again! #backtoschool I keep seeing throwback school pictures so I thought I would join in on the fun. 📸 I would have to say my favorite year of school was 3rd grade AND senior year in high school. I was a very active kid with playing every sport I could. I honestly would have play football if my parents would let me. I played soccer, volleyball, basketball, and softball. I played on traveling and competitive teams too. ⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🎾🏐 I had so many wonderful learning experiences in 3rd grade (and not to mention this is the year my parents to us to Disney World!!) 💖 This is the grade we learned about Egypt, the rainforest, the Titanic, and prehistoric times. To this day, these are four things I’m passionate about. My teacher, Mrs. Cravatta, was my favorite teacher I have ever had. She was a tough one but that’s why I loved her so. She retired from teaching last year. Hard to believe how quickly time flies. Now for high school, I miss it all! Senior year was my favorite high school year. From friends to sports to college research. Hard to believe it’s been 12 years since walking out of though school doors on graduation door. What I would give to go back one day for each of these school years. Go Byron Tigers!! 🧡🖤 .
Today is the first first day of school that I won’t be driving up to Ames as either a student or instructor in eight years. It’s kind of bittersweet but this little guy is a huge part of my Why for leaving higher education to focus on my interior design clients. If I were starting the semester today, then I’d probably be rushing out the door in a few minutes but instead I’m sitting on the floor in my yoga pants surrounded by toys and books while he plays happily. With an hour commute, there was no way for me to be as engaged an instructor as I wanted to be AND a mom AND a wife AND sleep. So I’m incredibly grateful for both my clients and husband who are making enjoying this season of life to the fullest possible.

“It is the same with my word. I send it out, and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.”
Isaiah 55:11 NLT
This past week has been challenging to say the least! However, I’m always reminded that God will always prosper over all else. With family, with business, with trying to do your best, challenges will arise but so will a breakthrough or triumph. I can truly say that by Friday the triumph was mine. Not for the purpose of gloating but as a reminder that I’m covered and I’m doing all that I am supposed to be doing.
No matter the challenge remember it too shall pass so don’t harbor on the temporary things.
Try to make your time matter: minutes, hours and days and weeks can blown away like dead leaves.
Remember to forgive yourself and to forgive others. It’s too easy to be outraged these days, so much harder to change things, to reach out, to understand. .
Last, meet new people and talk to them. Make new things and enjoy life!
