#DogTipTuesday Some dogs LOVE to jump on us to say hello, but our now muddy white pants or knocked over grandma is a real problem!
* Ignore these dogs completely, including eye contact, until all 4 are on the floor. Even pushing the dog off us satisfies their want to be touched and reinforces the behavior.
* Teach your dog what you want when guests, or you, come home instead of jumping. Teach them a place you’d like them to sit and wait. Use of a leash is helpful during this training.
The key to success with this is to have your whole family and friends on board with what to do when your dog jumps; there must be consistency for your dog to understand they don’t get love by jumping but by sitting calmly! ❤️
