Zach got to meet his favorite driver, Denny Hamlin, last month and still talks about it every day! I’m so thankful these drivers do so much for their fans, especially Denny! #bestdayever#dennyhamlin#nascar @nascar @dennyhamlin
On Tuesday, Leavine Family Racing announced their 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series crew chief. 2018 chief, Jon Leonard announced on Monday he had stayed with Team Chevy and moved to an engineering role on Austin Dillon’s No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet.
Mike Wheeler will take the place on top of the box after leaving Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 11 Camry. Hamlin confirmed after winning the Busch Pole at the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway that the race would be the last for the duo. Wheeler will crew chief the No. 95 Camry at LFR for Matt DiBenedetto. The season will the year of firsts for LFR, the first season in a Toyota, the first season with DiBenedetto and the first with Wheeler as crew chief. Wheeler’s first race in the MENCS was the 2016 Daytona 500 when he won the race with Denny Hamlin. Wheeler and Hamlin won twice more in 2016 and a single victory in 2017, but the team struggled in 2018, not scoring a win.

I’ve always liked Denny, he’s always been one of my favorites. This year was not the best. In fact it was the worst. I’ve already posted about this but I don’t get why people are trying to push Denny out of the 11. He has one god awful season and they think he’s trash, it’s not my problem if he stays or not but is he does that would be cool. I hope he wins next year and proves them wrong that he’s washed up.

Favorite schemes of 2018 part 2
11: Easy choice. One of my favorite schemes, and I wish they'd use it more.
12: This was a tough one, but the Carlisle scheme gives me a Newman vibe with the blue, and it looks clean.
13: It's hard to decide between this and the Geico primary, but I really like the blue and red, even they're not really Geico colors.
14: I thought this was really cool when they introduced it. I like how it has all the sponsors on the hood.
15: Black, white, and blue. They all mix so well together.
17: It was hard to pick between this and the Darlington car, but I think I like the new John Deere scheme just a little more. Ricky always has awesome paint schemes.
18: I know that I'm picking a lot of throwbacks, but how could I not pick this? It's one of my all-time favorite schemes, and it looks great on the Camry.
19: The Stanley cars have always looked sharp since they joined JGR. Personally, I prefer the Edwards version, but this looks nice too.
20: The Sports Clips scheme looks pretty nice. Sports Clips usually makes a good scheme.
21: Not a lot of people seem to care for this one, but I think it looks clean. That particular shade of green looks pretty nice.
