To be honest, I never knew how passionate I could be about massage when I first started. I had a tendency to get bored with jobs and would job hop around, searching for something to keep my interest long enough... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
November marks 5 years as a Massage Therapist and it’s easily the best career decision I’ve made! It has challenged me, changed me, and proven to me that it’s my calling. Even in school, I felt confident with my work and that’s carried with me to this day. I’ve learned from amazing teachers along the way and look forward to this journey of continually learning more and sharing it with my amazing clients. And the best part is all the cool people I’ve gotten to meet over Instagram the past couple of months! Even though I’m still newish at Shelley’s, I feel like it’s become a work home that I look forward to going to because of all the positivity I’m surrounded by. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Thomas test stretch ....
The Thomas test is a great tool to assess for muscular tightness and imbalances between the psoas, rectus femoris and the lateral hip musculature
One of the key pieces of information gleaned from the Thomas test is in balances between left and right
asymmetries should take precedent.
For example; I’d much rather a client demonstrate bilateral stiffness of the anterior quad then have one that’s extremely loose and one is extremely tight; asymmetries lead to torque and rotational stresses in the hips and low back- PAIN

Today at lunch I had a Raindrop / Deep Tissue Massage with Amy Litteral Marcum at Moxie.
She used all my favorite oils, including Release. Which is my favorite because it does what it says. 🤪
I loved the fire and the heated massage table and the quilt she covered me in and the music playing.
And the massage, too. 🤗
