The feeling of EXPANSION when you step OUTSIDE of your comfort zone and TRY something new.
Lately I have really been dipping my toes into NEW waters and getting caught up in the FLOW of the UNIVERSE. It feels SO GOOD.
When my fellow Canadian friend Stephanie Cole-Hiltz asked me if I would be up for creating an AquaFit Yoga class, I didn't hesitate.
Monday's first class was a SPLASHING success & we are set for more FUN in the pool today.

One of the main things I took from my @5rhythms dance training with @danceheeraanow was that dance isn't about how you look, it's about how you FEEL.
Your dance will never be the same from moment to moment, from day to day.
Allow your MIND to flow into your BODY & DANCE whatever comes up for you: anger, sadness, frustration, joy or even indifference.
The key is to DANCE IT OUT.

Up until a year and a half ago my poetry & doodles were hobbies of mine, important parts of my life I didn't give a lot of space to.
Once I started sharing the thoughts in my head, the words lingering on my lips & the sensations of my skin - my deepest truths, it was SO LIBERATING.

I used to feel insecure about dancing. Disconnection from my #authentic self left me pretty stagnant compared to how my body really wanted (& needed) to flow.
So much wasted energy spent on comparing myself to others & judging my body, #rhythm & moves.
At 39 years old I'm blooming into myself & fully connecting to my OWN UNIQUE #dance . Never the same, moment to moment, movement to movement. PERFECTLY IMPERFECT and all MINE.
Being disciplined is difficult. Staying committed is difficult. Making big decisions is difficult. Staying focused is difficult. Doing hard work is... well, difficult. .
I read somewhere recently that “difficult” is one item in the ingredients to making success. Basically - You can’t make sh*t happen without it. When you’re pushing through something that is difficult your effort is real and so is your sacrifice. 💪🏻 But at least pushing through all things that are difficult eventually DO lead to success - your bikini body, optimal health, a six-figure business, living a life by design! 🙌🏻 On the flipside, you could let difficult be an excuse for quitting and have regret... and regret goes on forever. 👎🏻
So today I’m making the choice to do the difficult work, make the tough decisions, and follow through on my commitments. Even if it’s difficult AF. 🤪

My workout before my workout today! I’m really falling in love with this rumba routine and I’m excited to perform it at my competition in Florida next month! I’m trying to work on being a more confident dancer. 😳 I know it would help me complete my movements but not gunna lie... the fear of “looking silly” or the fear of falling on my face takes over sometimes. 😂 I would drink a few more mimosas (aka: liquid courage) before each lesson but I think that’s a guaranteed face plant so... I’ll just have to keep practicing. 😂

A few years ago when I was writing a poem about dancing (#mindfulmovement often inspires me to write), l came across the word 'tarantism' & I wrote it down in a notebook.
Years have passed and now more than ever, I see #dance as a vital part of my life. It has a profound influence on my whole being.
DANCE has allowed me to CONNECT to my body more AUTHENTICALLY & INTIMATELY, it has helped me move through stagnant EMOTIONS that have been DEEP ROOTED since I was a child & it helps balance my CHAKRAS.
In particular I have had significant ENERGETIC SHIFTS in my THROAT (voice, communication, creativity) & SACRAL (human sexuality, creativity) chakras.
