These are the slightly shell-shocked faces of two people who just looked death in the eye. 😳
We were on mile 9 of a 10 mile hike in @TahoeNorth when I heard a rustle to my left. 'BEAR' was my first thought as I saw a black bear scurrying up a tree. My second thought was 'BABY BEAR' and then I saw a second sibling a few feet away. If you know anything about bears, when you see these adorable innocent creatures, there is a protective mama surely only feet away. As I started to shout (apparently my response in a bear situation is to say a throaty 'HUH, HUH' loudly over and over again) and move anxiously up the path, there she was watching us suspiciously not even 40 feet away,
Thankfully we continued to make noise and move quickly, but not too quickly, away and she didn't pursue us. We're lucky that black bears are relatively even-tempered, even when the have cubs, as if it had been a grizzly the story could have been so different. It was such a priveledge to see them on our hike but honestly once was enough for a lifetime! 🐻
Interestingly that very morning I said to Pat, "You know, I've only every seen a bear in the wild once and it was from a car." Now that number has increased 4 fold and I've certainly used up another of my nine lives. 🙇🏼♀️
There is always something to be thankful for. No matter what your current season looks like. 🧡 I shared some thoughts on the blog yesterday about thankfulness that you can check out through the link in my profile. I want to keep the thanksgiving spirit going throughout the week... so share something or someone you are thankful for in the comments below. 😊👇🏼
Every now and then, we get exciting visits by these friendly giants.

Don’t be self-conscious about dreaming. The benefits of dreaming far outweigh the perceived risks, because the value of dreaming isn’t just measured by the outcome, but the inspiration that comes from the journey of achieving the dream.
Throwback to this magical sunrise in a Wanaka, New Zealand ✨
I took this image a little over 2 years ago, with my first @sonyalpha set-up, the a7II camera body + 24-70mm f/4 lens. Using a tripod allowed for a longer exposure and that silky effect of the water. It’s still one of my favorite images 🏔
Do you have a favorite image you have taken? Share them in your stories and tag me, or send them to me in a DM. Will be sharing some in my stories later today!
Positan-OH (I'm sorry I'm not funny.) This place was probably one of the most unreal places I've ever seen. Although it was cloudy, it was still by far one of the best experiences I've had on my entire trip abroad. Where's your all's favorite place?

“I find myself becoming greedy. Greedy for new experiences, new sights and cities. I’ve become an addict for adventure, and I’m afraid there is no cure.” - C.M.T.✈️ Each pin on this map represents the home of a traveler who was passing through the area. Currently I’m in the midst of planning not one but two (!!) upcoming trips and my anxiety is already through the roof. The hardest part of planning for me is waiting to leave. Where do you want to travel next??
