"One parent was so engrossed in their device – for more than 30 minutes – that they didn’t notice their son hitting play equipment or crawling over furniture. Another caregiver didn’t see their baby standing up and falling out of a pram." Check out more about this study on @Kidspot via #LinkInBio
The most damage you can cause someone is by judging your opinions into them. This happens all day everyday and everywhere. This leads to low self esteem and causes dreams and goals to shatter. Scenes from Mexico Beach Florida
Had one of the must surreal and beautiful experiences of my life this weekend. A week ago @fightoffyourd3mons_ @jayson0312 and I decided we would collect supplies and head to he panhandle. We had no idea how much support we would gather. Within no time, people and local businesses such as @frenchysoutpost donated thousands of dollars in supplies.
We headed north and hoped for the best. Upon getting to Mexico Beach, we we're directed by the National Guard to an EOC POD to drop supplies. Upon dropping our gear we met an amazing guy from St Pete named Matt, who said he could use some help volunteering. We took some local backroads into surrounding neighborhoods to distribute any leftover supplies and gift cards we had to residents clearing their yards. We got hugs from and smiles from a woman who lost her business. We got tears from a grandmother whose seven year old grandson was so traumatized by the storm he had to be sent to stay with a friend. We met a group of folks who lost their house, but we're spending their time delivering ice to people who needed it. We gave food to a family living out of their car as they had nowhere to stay and said they didn't want to take too much because "other people may need it." After searching the neighborhood, we returned to the supply drop to help Matt and his friends at Hearts and Hands handing out supplies. There we met hundreds of people and gave them anything they needed. They thanked us, took our pictures, shared their stories, and hugged us.
The entire Mexico Beach community was overwhelmingly optimistic, thankful, and resilient. They will rebuild. And we will be back to see our friends up there and help them anyway we can.
Oh yeah, and we totally saw a black bear and that was cool too.
