One’s company, two’s a crowd, and three’s a party! Did you know that at Arethusa Farm we always promote putting groups of cattle outside together so they can socialize? Although it sounds odd, we often find them all together... perhaps they’re gossiping about what’s cooking at @arethusaltavolo !

To name a few of these diverse products, Randox Food Diagnostics looks at the dairy, meat, seafood, feed and honey markets. Click the link in our bio.
One of the most beautiful roads in New Zealand. Easily missed as you drive down state highway 8 from Tekapo on your way to Wanaka or Queenstown. Worth the drive up towards Mt Cook village though.
Go and see it while you still can, before it stinks like cow poo from the 15,000 cow dairy farm Murray Valentine is currently creating right beside Lake Pukaki (on the right in this photo). Anyone who's driven past the tens of thousands of irrigators elsewhere in the South Island knows exactly what it's going to look like in 10 years time.
Anything boys can do girls can do better? 🤔 #FarmHer
It’s Farmer Abby’s turn to help her dad milk tonight. I’m starting to get used to all of this help and TLC. The chiropractor said that my back should start feeling better in a few days but I suddenly feel a relapse coming on 😉
How she kept that white shirt clean while milking is anyone’s guess 🤷♂️
One of my main interests in bovine medicine is mastitis and milk quality. I’ve even set up a little lab in my garage with an egg incubator to culture all the on farm mastitis cases we get here. (Also, I probably need a new hobbies...) 🔬
My favourite bug is Staph aureus. A classic staph aureus has beautiful, big, golden colonies, with beta haemolysis (complete break down of the RBC - so clear haemolysis on the plate as seen here). It fizzes aggressively on catalase testing, and is latex agglutination positive (last pic). Treatment can be difficult and often unsuccessful. 💉
I think if Staph aureus were a person, she’d have big hair and bright red lipstick, and be all about the DRAMA! 💃🏻•

@Regrann from @a_life_not_worth_living_ - If this doesn’t piss you off then you can’t possibly have a soul. #Repost with @Repostlyapp @glass.walls Yesterday we uncovered a shocking practice at the Yagur dairy farm.
Not only was the newborn abducted from his mother, but the she was also electrocuted with an electric prod immediately after she had given birth. They were both kicked by the farm worker.
Separating newborn calves from their mothers is a standard practice in dairy farms all over the world, yet in this case they were not allowed even one moment together. The mother was unable to lick her baby even once! They will never meet again but will share the same fate – a violent death inside a slaughterhouse.
Please share this video to show dairy consumers the heartbreak caused to mothers and their offspring in this heartless industry.
I snuck onto a dairy farm today and gave this sweet girl some love. These babies are locked in these small crates and CRAVE attention. It was so heartbreaking to walk away from her and leave her. Within a year she will be forcefully impregnated, her own baby will be stolen and placed in a crate, and she will be reduced to a milking machine. In the next 5 years her body will break from over-use and she will be ground up for low grade hamburger. Such a heartbreaking cycle 💔
