Dont burn yourself out,
For people who will set you alight,
And blame you for the smoke that leaves a trace, in the dead of the night.
Ignite your flame with a passion for what's right, don't fuel the spite.
Your glow will rise, with your inner strength.
The light in the dark, will be your greatest defence.
Let your spark in the night set you apart from the grasp of the thriving dark.
For where there is light, things will turn out alright.
Carole Spackman is one of 22 South Wales Potters members will be exhibiting at Oriel Cric between October 1 and October 20. Living in the Brecon Beacons National Park for 36 years, Carole Spackman's work is influenced by the native birds & animals - their habits & relationships to each other and to their differing environments, which she aims to reflect in her sculptures. She will also show her decorated tableware inspired by the late Meg Stevens' wild flower landscapes within the national park. . Her gas kiln fired to 1280oC coupled with Carole’s ash glazes serve to flux the underglaze colours that one would see within these wild flower meadows. Each gas kiln firing spurs her on to refine technique and ideas. #hare#ceramicbirds#clay#sculpture#ceramics#pottery#ceramics#wales#cymru#wales#welshart#powys#crickhowell
