sliiiight throwback to earlier this summer — i decided to lean out a bit just to see what i could do, decided 103lbs made me look like a twiggy, and now I’m back to eating cake and in n out on the regular!! it was nice seeing myself actually cut for a change, but becoming and staying lean is a task. i’ll probably do this again at some point, but for now I’m content with gaining the strength i lost back and finally feeling less lethargic 🎉 #ilyfood

In the left picture was after his dirty bulk standing at 6’2 weighing 189lbs @ 14% body fat, on the right he shredded down with a solid diet plan to 174 @ 9% body fat. Missing pool daysss 🌞. Life has been super hectic. So here’s my mom bod....once we got settled into our new home I was able to start working out again. During our move I couldn’t even find the time to workout. (I tried) but it was just too much. I have 3 kids and they always come first. They love to share their food with me! Lol. My daughter is a little baker, and I wouldn’t be supporting her if I don’t try her little creations, so I try it cause ima her number #1 fan... It’s hard for me to eat healthy ALL THE TIME. But I do when I can and I do make healthy choices throughout the day knowing that I will encounter little snacks during the day from my Littles.

Here is a before and after pic of me (left) April 2018 when I finally was able to start my fitness routine again. I still have ways to go before my goal, but im happy that I’m seeing progress even though it’s slow, progress is progress and most importantly - I feel great!!! Kicking things in a little tighter 8.5/9 weeks out! Implementing some changes this week as we transition into getting closer to show day. Bumped cardio up to 7 days/week and dropped carbs from one of my meals. Lots of work to be done but happy with the progress that has been made so far! I feel like physically, my body is finally kicking itself into this prep & gaining a lot of vascularity and adjusting composition to drop fat more effectively. We’ve got a hard 8 weeks ahead of us 😂, especially with classes resuming and other work/professional & personal obligations. 💥💥IT IS OK to not be balanced in your life for an allotted amount of time in order to work toward reach a goal!! It is ok to be selfish & focus on you (something I have always struggled to do).💥💥Hope you are all having a great Wednesday. Happy hump day y’all 🎉.

You want cake and no guilt?

Everyone loves dessert and whilst we should eat whatever we want in moderation, sometimes making a healthier version makes you feel less guilty it's just human nature.

This is pecan banana bread made with no added sugar, no butter or traditional flour and tastes delicious, tested by my "diabetic and lover of sugar" mum 🤯 
Recipe:
- 2 mashed 🍌s
- 2 eggs
- 50g oats
- 2 scoops protein powder - 20g coconut oil
- 75g 🥥 flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- pecans (optional)

Then mix it all up and bung it in the oven at 180° or gas mark 6 for circa 40mins. 
Mix it up as you like, baking is fun cos you can chop and change anything you like, prefer walnuts or hazelnuts or even no nuts! Go for it

It will only take you 10mins to prepare and even less time to eat mmm 🍰

#transformationtuesday : side edition! My least favorite angle, for sure. I was nervous that first day at the gym. Big time. I still get nervous. I am regularly the largest person working out, in any class or on the floor. But I am here to tell you, that fear is worth overcoming. I have met so mamy kind, genuine people at the gym who have been cheering me on. Sure, there are people who stare, but who cares? Who are they? Don't hide from them. Inspire them 👊 get in there and show them what you can do, and don't ever give up! ❤

Slowly (way slowly) getting used to two leg days. My mind comes in ready, but my body taps out around the middle of Hamstring work. The fact on im on a cut doesn't help, but it will work for the better once everything comes together!

Trying to get healthy can be so confusing. There is so much information ℹ around it's enough to give anyone a headache. But there are simple things you can do to help get you there and then gradually add more and hey you have some healthy habits you can actually stick to!! 1. Add vegetables to every meal (I'm sure there's at least one you'll love)

2. Drink more water (8 glasses is a lot if you currently drink 1, so double it, go for 2 then increase it)

3. Listen to your body (in the old days people didn't have fitbits, macro calculators, youtube they ate when they were hungry and ate foods that filled them up). Ps. How do you take your eggs? 👩🏽‍🍳

I had a great workout today. Grabbed some food to make for dinner tonight for the fam before I head off to work. 
I work swing shift at a hospital and get off at 1:30 am, not to mention my hour long commute. I wake up at 7am to get the kids ready for school and do it all over again. People always ask me how do I find time. I make time. Us moms really need to take some for ourselves. I can’t stress that enough how important it is. I love working out and sneaking in a couple of reading time when I get the chance. 
My fitness journey has been such a struggle for me. I’m still trying to get to my goal and it really is hard when you have little ones running around. I thought after having my 3rd child I would hop right back into it, little did I know I had much more to juggle than what I planned in my head lol. But slow progress is better than none. I try to put as much effort as I can into achieving my goals and I know one day I will get there.

Getting back in the gym slowly but surely. I work 9-10 hour days 5 days a week, and at the end of the day I am physically and mentally exhausted... But I am done making the excuse “I just don’t have enough time in my day to hit the gym” That stops now, taking a note out of my brother @seanstad book (it’s not the exact quote) “you always have some type of time in your day to do at least 20-30 minutes of any type of work out. You don’t have to be in the gym for 2 hours, less is more. But getting something in is something, as long as you give 100%”. So that is what I am doing, getting in some type of workout. My passion and my goal is to burn the fat I’ve put on and turn it into muscle. I have been told that I have the perfect body build for toning up muscle wise and lift competitively. So that is my goal, to get into to CrossFit weight lifting. It’s going to be a long road I know, but i want this. And when I want something that bad, I do and put my all into it. #powerlifting #cuttingfat #toningup

My diet has been not good for about six months but I officially back on track and to wow myself in what I can do in six month. I have set a goal for six month out and I’m ready to crush it!!! There is no secret to it and some people struggle to see a tie in even at an extremely low body fat. Hamstring definition also has a LOT to do with level of leanness, particularly, where your body holds fat longer. I truly believe nothing is really off limits. I used to be that person that restricted calories, carbs and sugar. And then I became that tired, un motivated to train and moody person (my family can tell you lol). Now that's just my experience others will differ but believe me: Food affects how you feel not just how you look and how you feel is more important than the other! 
So feel energised, balanced and full because food can do that for you. 
Recipe for 10 (4 muffins, 6 cookie) 👇 - 2 ripe🍌 mashed
- 80g oats
- Scoop of vanilla pp (a post on my favs coming soon)
- blueberries

Gas mark 6, or 200°c for 25mins

And they were delicious, can be a part of breakie/dessert and pre and post gym.

When you go to your gym for a body scan and evaluate and the trainer says no more oats for breakfast. Im eliminating carbs and to eat 95 grams of protein. Im not exactly sure what i will eat yet but I have all weekend to meal prep!

Tagine Tuesdays 
Want a low effort powerhouse of a meal.. Well this is it. Lamb, Cous cous, pepper, 🍄 and courgette make a hearty meal. Lamb is a fatty and filling protein source that I think we all can appreciate (mind you not an everyday one). Cous cous is also a new favourite of mine, again so simple to cook and has so much flavour if you're getting bored of rice.

And you guys know how much I love vegetables to get in some micronutrients!

Method:
-Roast lamb sausages for 30mins gas mark 6
-Add 100g cous cous to a pan of boiling water. Then leave to summer for 5mins
-Fry 🍄 and pepper in a separate pan.
-Mix it all up and tagine tuesday is served!

It was SO HUMID in the gym today 😂 couldn't even snap a pic! But your girl got her workout in anyway 💪 I have had a bunch of questions about my food and Intermittent Fasting lately, so I am tracking my food and calories in my story today. I don't follow any specific diet, just control calories and portions and try to eat less carbs than anything else. Lots of veggies. If I want something, I make it fit. I do 20:4 IF and for about 6 months my eating window was 2p-6p, but I have been experimenting with later times, like 5p-9p. My binge cravings are worst in the evening (holla if you can relate 😣) so I have been having dinner with my family at 5 as my first meal and then eating (healthy) snacky kinds of foods the rest of the evening. I think that actually will work great for weekends, but during the week I work out HARD in the morning so even though I can wait until 5, I will admit my attitude starts going WAY downhill around 3:30 😂 so today I started back with 2-6. Do what works for you! IF has saved my life, but it isn't for everyone. I am always open to questions though! Happy Tues, friends and #fitfam 😘

I think that actually will work great for weekends, but during the week I work out HARD in the morning so even though I can wait until 5, I will admit my attitude starts going WAY downhill around 3:30 😂 so today I started back with 2-6. The picture to the left (where I'm wearing shorts), is a day post-cheat meal while the second one is from today (where I'm wearing jeans). One question I frequently get asked is how to deal with water weight (and some people also mistake fat with water weight but I'll save that for another post). So, to get rid of the water weight I drank a ton of water (which I should be doing anyway) and a mug of hot, black, unsweetened coffee. Sure, my bathroom visits were frequent and I burned my tongue a little but the change can be seen. • bent row to upright row ]
• reverse curl to overhead extension ]
• clean and reverse lunge to tuck jump ]
Each superset working on 12-10-8-6-4 reps of each without rest 
This last one was a tough finisher getting the heart rate right up

Meal prep underway
Makes 4 salad lunches
1 head of romain lettuce, 1 cup in each bowl
1 cucumber, 1/4 in each bowl
2 bell peppers, 1/4 of each in each bowl
1/2 red onion, 1/8 in each bowl
12 olives in each bowl
Finally add 4-6 oz of your favorite meat on top or on the side. 
2 Tbsp ovile oil dressing added when ready to eat. 
Love this one because it takes about 20 minutes to make all 4 and I can just grab and go in the morning.

So I got the eggs and the cake. The eggs benedict dish comes with hollandaise sauce + chips. So I asked to put the hollandaise on the side as opposed to all over the eggs and swapped the chips for a salad.

My friends had a little giggle as they ate their chips and sauce but that's ok. I did that because I want to enjoy my food and I wanted dessert. So to make room I got rid of the excess as hollandaise is very heavy and creamy and chips are just chips lol!

The eggs were nice, not amazing but the 🥞 were a 10 best bite I've had mmm. The strawberry sundae was an 8 and the cappuccino cake I got was lets say a 6 didn't even fancy finishing it. I hear the afternoon tea and breakfast are awesome so will have to re visit.
