Quel bonheur de retrouver cette série chez @lumeneditions !! Notre espionne en herbe, Sage, qui en réalité n’a plus rien d’une débutante va infiltrer pour le compte de la reine l’armée de son fiancé envoyé sur une mission secrète en se faisant passer pour un homme.
L’univers mis en place par l’auteure se développe de plus belle et sa plume visuelle, efficace et addictive m’a transporté avec plaisir d’un bout à l’autre du récit.
Sage, fidèle à elle-même est toujours aussi tête brûlée et se lance tête la première dans les ennuis. Elle vit des moments difficiles avec le capitaine Quinn et l’incompréhension devient le maître mot qui ponctue leur relation ce qui m’a souvent mise mal à l’aise.
En dépit de quelques petites prévisibilités dans l’intrigue, j’ai autant aimé ce tome que le précédent et je me languis de pouvoir lire la suite pour retrouver notre panoplie de personnages, principaux comme secondaires.

Long time no see 🙋🏻♀️. Christmas has been so full on this year (full of festive wonderful things, but v full) so I've been neglecting reading and posting recently. I'm even struggling through my HP re-read 😭. I realise I haven't shared my last two books I received from @readinginheelsuk boxes! Last month was States of Passion by Nihad Sirees and this month was Stories We Tell Ourselves by Sarah Francoise. Both look like they will be wonderful reads.
I'm also currently reading The Slap by Christos Tsiolkas and I'm really unsure what to make of it so far. One minute I can't put it down, the next minute I'm a bit 'wtf did I just read'. We'll see how it pans out.

The year is about to end as well which means I gotta start working on my new year's resolution. I was never keen on writing them because I never followed but last year has been an exception. I achieved most them and I can't believe it either. I've always loved the idea. It's like a promise one makes with oneself, a promise to make yourself a better person. Regardless of what the resolution is, it's almost always a step forward and however small that step may be it's progress.

Do you accessorize with your book? Even when I know, without a doubt, that I will not have a chance to read (umm...the grocery store?) I still find myself shoving my book into my bag- i have all the ebooks and audio books on my phone, but there is something to be said about carrying a physical book, am I right? .

This brief fable is a funny, sad and ultimately hopeful meditation on humans and their interactions with the natural world.
I was not prepared for how touched I would be by the final pages.
