"I started experimenting with how to get to know people to find out more of who people really are instead of having a meaningless passing conversation that quickly disappears from memory.
How do you spend those first minutes you are talking to somebody, what questions do you ask?
The choice you make will change completely how deeply and fast you can connect.
Inspired by some friends who are dream facilitators I started asking where do you feel at home, who is your tribe, what makes you engage? The light in the eyes is when I know we are talking about the right subject. This is much more interesting and telling than where they grew up or which school they went to.
This has given me much more appreciation in human interaction, every person you meet has a fire burning in them for something. There is so much stimulation for intellect and emotion in each encounter because I am amazed at my fellow humans." @yatanblu

Articulating any position outside the accepted norm will instantly label you as an "extremist", followed by an accusation of being a nazi, communist, liberal, transphobic or whatever other bogeyman society currently villifies.
Calling someone any of these as a slur is just a display of one's own narrow-mindedness and ignorance as it's usually an ad hominem anyway, and not even an argument in the first place.

It's good to be curious about many things. –Mr. Rogers // Foster the Kindhearted ...and Curious.
And oh, the patience of the Lord. He is steadfast and secure and safe. But when we ask for those things often, endlessly forgetful in our human bones as we yearn for a mysterious stability that is alien in this world, He is not flustered or eye rolly or annoyed. Nope, He is patient as He reminds us to wait. To wait and hope and trust because His steadfastness does not depend on us.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.
I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. .
From the closing collect today: Grant to us, Lord, we pray, the spirit to think and do always those things that are right, that we, who cannot exist without you, may by you be enabled to live according to your will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

By no accounts did the dwelling belong on our otherwise typical suburban street. It was almost medieval in nature, and massive. A castle standing tall in a sea of non-differential model homes. As a kid I found the property enigmatic, and it became reliable inspiration for my impressionable childhood imagination. I convinced myself there was a dragon’s lair hidden deep beneath the stone. After all, we never saw who or what actually lived there, be it man or beast. Some of the neighbor kids believed it to be haunted. My best friend, Ash, he swore he saw a hooded figure leave from the place at 3:00 in the morning. What the spectre was doing at that hour I’ll never know, and Ash? He was a known fibber, and why was HE up at 3:00 in the morning? I wanted to see it for myself. Everyday, on my way home from school, I’d stop at the gate just outside the manor. I’d watch for movement, anything. Sometimes I’d see the Stuart’s cat cross into the yard, though it never lingered. Cautiously it pawed at the ground, before getting spooked and running chaotically in the opposite direction. I always wondered where it was going in such a hurry, and why it kept coming back. One day, on a particularly hot afternoon, I stopped in some shade just outside the grounds. I sat down to cool off, sweat glistening on my neck, when I heard the shutter of metal and a click. The gate swung open. ———————————————————

〰️ A music playlist for making stuff 〰️
(Playlist link in bio) A couple things struck me last night when I was drawing out patterns and listening to hip hop.
1. How good hip hop music is to work to.
2. How pattern based hip hop music is. It’s all beat combos, loops and bars. 16 bars in the verse. 8 in the chorus and repeat. It’s all about creating an amazing yet simple pattern (the instrumental) and seeing how far you can push the boundaries of the pattern with the rhythm of the vocal over the top. ——-
So I’ve made a @spotify playlist of some of my favourite Hip Hop tracks. Link to follow in my bio. Stick it on next time your making something. Any suggestions for tracks to add let me know 👊🏼 #QisforQuest#Q3#Patterns

Never would I have thought that I’d ever scream for more speed. Lying on top of something resembling an inflatable m&m, holding on really hard, being dragged by a speedboat 🚤 and crying with laughter, all I wished was that it would never end. Now all I can think about is how to get one like it and a speedboat to go with it. So happy and thankful to have discovered something in myself that I never thought would happen. I always thought I was a chicken shit when it came to speed. I guess I was wrong. What a wonderful feeling that is! #ifeeltheneedforspeed#archipelago#curiosity#happiness#stillsummer
[NEW PODCAST] On the latest episode of the Leadership Vision Podcast, Nathan shares a #Strengths conversation with Director of Business Development, Logan Joyce. More specifically, they share what we call a "push" conversation. These are dialogues between two people where you intentionally push Strengths to the center.
You’ll get to hear Nathan and Logan discuss how their Strengths help them remain curious. Curiosity is marked by the desire to investigate and learn, and that couldn’t be truer of the way both Nathan and Logan live their lives. As you listen to this episode, think about how your Strengths contribute to helping you stay curious, or learn new things. ALL of us have to do this, sometimes a lot, and knowing the way you do it best will help on many levels. Listen now! (link in profile)
