🇭🇰 WELCOME TO HONG KONG! 🇭🇰
One of the coolest things @kevin.dowd and I did when we landed in Hong Kong is we took the Ngong Ping 360 Cable Car through the mountains to Tian Tan Buddha (The Big Buddha).
One of the world's largest seated Buddha, Tian Tan Buddha features breathtaking views of the Ngong Ping Village, Po Lin Monastery and it is said that on a clear day you can actually see Macau off in the distance as well! 🔭
Step into another world when you stay at Hotel Esencia. The serenity and understated luxury will captivate you immediately! The converted mansion and guesthouse are the prime jewels of the property, with separate villas scattered throughout the grounds. @hotelesencia
Ok, I'm kinda in love with Portugal. // Got on this crazy bus where everyone else seemed to know each other and none of them spoke any English. The bus blew past stop signs and up a windy mountain road, finally depositing me at a street corner in a nondescript suburb. I then walked along the freeway and through an urban park before turning the final corner and seeing THIS.
If you know me, you know that I have spent the last 10+ years riding a stationary bike to nowhere in a dark room nearly every day. There's no question spinning is a great workout, but that's all it is. It lacks any of the adventure or freedom of hopping on an actual bike on an actual road with actual scenery, and as a result, the idea of taking a real bike trip in some beautiful part of the world crosses my mind on a regular basis. But I'm chicken. Because, after all, I've been riding this stationary bike for so long that I have zero confidence in my ability to handle actual terrain. Which is where @duvineandy of @duvine comes in. I've long been a fan of his site, using it to daydream about cycling through the Loire Valley or even Japan, and when we finally had a chance to chat, he made it perfectly clear that anyone can handle a bike trip. Anyone. Even me. And while I still haven't taken the plunge, I'm close. Because there's no denying the lure of feeling the wind in my hair and the road under my tires — especially when the guy on bike 19 is sweating all over me. Tap the link for his 7 tips that I promise will make the idea of a long-haul bike trip feel much more manageable. Driving through the vineyards of Alsace, France. Alsace is famous for its wine route through picturesque villages and countryside.

Forever remember that dreams are always in reach. The road to your dreams isn’t always easy to navigate; sometimes dotted with mountains to climb, obstacles to overcome - and hard, mind-numbing times that will make you feel like quitting. Anything worth having doesn’t come easy. Don’t turn your back, never give up. The question is, are you a dreamer or a risk taker? When others go to sleep, keep on pushing for your dream. When others quit, keep going. Don’t lose sight of the goal, it’s all about you and no one else. It’s okay to be selfish sometimes. It’s fine to say no to the ones you love. Go live doing what you want to do and not what others are pushing you to do. It’s the only way you can be happy. Oh, and freaking love the shit out of yourself, because no one else will! —
How are you today? —
In Paris for a few days, the plan is to have an early night, make use of the air con and get a proper night’s sleep for a change. Up early for a run around the city, then get my walking shoes 👟 on to explore.
You guys already know I’m a native New Yorker and so when I moved to California last year I suffered a bit of a culture shock. The warm and bright morning sun every morning, the tall-thin palm trees looming overhead and the mountains set in the back, have made California a comfortable little place in my heart ❤️ #handletterer
