Hi Frands! I feel like I’m drowning in editing! I’ve heard a lot of this from my other photg friends, especially those of us with other full/part time jobs (phew! It’s not just me!). The fall is always so beautiful but my goodness it brings a lot of late nights, loss of sleep, and not to mention some missed time with the family. I wouldn’t trade it for the world! Trying to complete all my September to do’s before I head to Nashville next week for one of my childhood best friends’ wedding! I plan to do a lot of visiting my childhood memories while I’m there. I’m going to show Rowan where I camped as a little girl at Fall Creek Falls, take him to see Opryland hotel where we used to go every year with my aunts and uncles. did you know Nashville also has a full-scale replica of the Parthenon with an enormous Athena statue inside? I remember going as a kid and even to Shakespeare in the park but it didn’t hold as much value as it does now. Nashville has changed a lot from when I was little, but no matter what it will always be home. Some of my favorite places have been replaced by the more trendy bars but when I go back It’s hard not to visit the things that remind me of home. The smell of Waffle House, the sound of the creek running through our back yard, the skateboards and bikes at 6th Ave, the music that played all night long every night of the week. I was pretty blessed to grow up in a city with such rich Arts & Culture. See you soon Nashville, I’m coming home.
Sorry if I’ve been a little MIA lately. Nothing has been going on, I just haven’t been on social media! Whoops. I’m going to blame the time change and how it gets dark by 5pm. I hope y’all are having a great week, and I’m just stopping by to say.... I’m ready for snow. K BYEEEE.
Kimmarie, Daniel, and I hiked up Talcott Mountain for their engagement session and Instagram has the nerve to cut off portrait pictures.....#notcool •
Also, I definitely rolled my ankle a minimum of five times and sounded like I was dying hiking up that thing, but we made it!
Tag a friend who is engaged, looking for a photographer and wants a free engagement session! I am only giving away two engagement sessions this year, so send me a DM as soon as you can! I am so psyched for the 2019 and 2020 wedding season, so let's get some sessions scheduled 😉
Chris and Jo-ann are the actual textbook definition of “made for eachother” and if this look doesn’t say it all, I don’t know what does. I spend a lot of time getting to know and even become friends with most of my couples and guys- this love is the real friggin’ deal. I sent over their gallery yesterday and found myself tearing up all over again at the depth of love and friendship these two share; every detail of their wedding day centered around the food, the colors, the animals (hint it’s bears) that make up their story together. I love you guys 💛🐻🍪(there’s no macaron emoji, I did my best)
How cute are these guys? Tbh couple/engagement shoots are probably my all time favorite, especially when the couple has a great sense of humor. Being in front of the camera is totally weird and uncomfortable and I get it 100%, but the ability to be goofy and just have fun with each other is so important. You want these photos to represent the moments that people don’t see; those silly moments you have together that make you actually love someone. @katcav139 @jmooch_ ♥️
It is a long post kinda day. Feel free to double tap if you think I'm cute and scroll on 😉
I was chatting with a friend from high school recently and made a comment about feeling like a hot mess. Her response was, "Really? You totally look like you have it all together."
Social media is a giant lying game, and I had no idea I could potentially be that person (we all have one) who looks like they have it all going on. Who would think that I, with a measly 600 some odd followers, could be somebody's "she's got it all together" person? So, I am about to spill some beans and potentially overshare a bit. We about to get hella real here, folks!
1.) I recently had almost $1,000 stolen from me and I am in the midst of trying to get it all back. I won the first round, but this person pursued a second. All I can say is that Karma is that really special someone and she's coming for you, lady.
2.) I'm laughing in this picture that was taken yesterday, but I'm so, so, so tired. I'm hella self conscious of the little bags under my eyes. Between working a part time job and the busiest season of my photography business (October), I feel totally burnt out.
3.) I have taken some huge adulting steps in my life just in the past two months, and it's freaking me out a lot. My anxiety has been at its peak for far too long, and I'm low key worried about inducing a heart attack lololol.
But there are definitely some good things.
1.) I'm in love with a really amazing guy. He has a cool beard and puts up with me in the most amazing ways.
2.) I have some of the BEST (!!!) clients in 👏 this 👏 world 👏👏👏. Everyone says that, but I really love every single one of you guys.
3.) While this season has been busy, it has been so wonderful. I've had quite a few moments of panic that come with starting a new business, but the amount of growth I've experienced has been amazing. I love my job.
So, no. I definitely don't have it all together. Shout out to 30 year old me who will (lol no she won't 😂)! There is no such thing as being fully put together. Life is life, and life is messy. That's what makes it fun. If you made it to the end, comment a 🥂 or 🔥 because you're a beast!!!
