Life has thrown some curve balls recently, so decided to take the day off on Friday to decompress a bit.
As humans, we easily get caught up with working and keeping up with the fast pace that life is now, and forget to smell the roses.
Spending the day in nature does wonders for the soul and reminded me that there is more to life than the rat race we find ourselves in.
Life is short folks. Don't sweat the small stuff, and remember what's important.
I absolutely love the colour green, and also taking photos of patterns in the landscape, hazy horizons and leaves. I don't share these photos that often, though.
But the highlights on these fern fronds and the dripping water from the waterfall just captivated me. I spent a long time next to the pool getting the settings on my camera just right to get this shot.
Shooting at Crystal Pools was difficult; the shadows were very deep and prominent, and the sun was extremely bright. I didn't pack in my polarised lens filter either, so I struggled a bit with my settings and had to spend some time tweaking the highlights and exposure during post-shoot editing. But for me that is all part of the fun! I enjoy every step of the path to posting a photo; planning the adventure/trip, hiking and exploring with my friends, searching for and shooting the subject matter, editing the photos, posting the picture and caption and then finally being able to interact with everybody on this platform! Damn, Instagram has really captured all of my passions on one online platform and I enjoy the community on here so much!
