Ok, day one.
We did this program a few years ago after I’d already lost a lot of weight through dumping sugar, wheat and dairy and Mel had got fitter through exercise and building up to her first half marathon as she didn’t really have any weight to lose.
The running photo in the blue top was after I’d lost enough weight to do my first 5km Parkrun without Crohns/toilet issues.
The other running photo was in April this year when I was four and a half years older.
Today sees Mel and I restart @chefpeteevans Paleo Way ten week program.
We pretty much live by those principles anyway day to day but a little too much red wine has crept in, together with a few too many ‘Paleo treats and for me the odd bit of fermented dairy.
Many won’t know but Mel has been battling her own health issues for several years and trying to get to the root cause is a nightmare with today’s health service. It’s hard enough for us to navigate when we know what we’re talking about!
Mel has been temporarily diagnosed with fibromyalgia which is a generic term whilst we still try to get to the bottom of it all.
She is getting better every day through diet, sleep, exercise and mindfulness but again, the Paleo treats creep in and she’s going to do the Ten Week Program from an AIP protocol approach, to really tighten up.
This program has a structured exercise program too, which we followed religiously before but as I’m fitter and stronger nowadays it will be interesting to see where I’m at/we’re both at by 22nd September.
No grog, no treats, just good wholesome food and rest, sunshine and exercise for ten weeks.
Six pack by September.
If anyone else wants to try it it’s totally free and it’s here.
We’d love you to do it with us and support each other along the way, so let us know if you’re joining us or if you’ve already started.
The first week of the plan is a prep/shopping week. We’ve done all that before so we start on the ten weeks proper today.

The surgeon told us he will never fully heal. He'll plateau in 3-6 months and that will be his new normal, anymore progress will be unlikely.
Surgeon shrugged away our concern and said we should consider ourselves lucky, so many have it much, much worse. We do, but it doesn't change the momentary disappointment, loss and pain we've experienced.
We don't believe in never, just not now.
We could take it in two ways. We could fall into learned helplessness: believing the choices we make have no effect on the outcomes of Matt's life. Or we could believe that the surgeon and ourselves can only see a fragment of the whole and trust that it's all going to work out for the better.
If an idea justifies itself by its usefulness then we should always believe.
It's never too late, we can always overcome.
I'm gunna tell you a story about these bags. I went to the Mayo Clinic back in the beginning of April. I had a new prescription written for these Hollister mini bags then, but this is the very first bag I've gotten to wear since then. The company I go through is Lincare, and I'm not a happy camper when it comes to ordering my supplies. Back in April, I had my new script sent in and they said it wasn't written right, so I called and had it redone. They called back a week later saying they couldn't fill it. I asked why and they said it still wasn't done right. So I had it done again. I didn't get a call back so things were going good then, right? Wrong, they didn't have the supplies in the warehouse. So I got my old supplies for April. So May comes around and I call to order my new ones, and yet nothing. So May gets old supplies. Next comes June. They lost the new script so I had to find ALL of the reference numbers and call them back. But now they need a template for both of my bags (I need both Hollister and coloplast bags). So they now have all the numbers for all the new items I need. But I still can't get my new bags, the need to make sure they have all the items before they send anything out. ANNND, they send me my old bags. So now onto July. I am FINALLY able to get my new mini bags! But I only get half of my supplies... I still need the other half. So I call back and they say they are contacting 3 other warehouses for the other supplies. I got the first half on last friday, so I will be getting the rest in 3 other boxes on 3 different days. So monday, I get my next box, Tuesday, I get that box and Wednesday I get that one, all as planned. But Wednesday was the box with my wafers in it. I was so ecstatic when I got that one because I can finally wear the minis, but no. They send me the next size bigger! So I call again and they send the right size this time. It took Lincare 4 months and about 50 phone calls to get me the right supplies. Thanks #Lincare for finally getting it right after that long.
