A handmade father’s day gift: The kids and I collected rocks during our nature walks, washed them and painted them together. I asked each of them to say a few things they enjoy about their father. Based on what they said, I came up with single words to describe what they love about their dad. For example, my boys said they love it when their dad plays the tickle monster. I wrote up the word “silly” to describe this. My 10 year old daughter helped me buy the pot and the fake moss. She also helped me put everything together to make this beautiful rock garden. We are hoping that this will make it to dad’s office soon ❤️
Happy Papa’s Day to all the Wildfolk fams- to all the fathers, father figures, & father stand-ins! ❤️ I miss my Dad about as much as any other day (which is a lot!). Thankfully, camp setup weekend always falls during Father’s Day, so I don’t have too much time to feel anything 🤣. And sending love out to the other Dad-ish dude in my life @ggershuni , who has always been there since I was a wee one. Love you! 😘
So daddy and I had the pleasure of taking this little wildling out for the day alone last weekend! We stopped in a meadow for a quiet picnic in the grass, but Hunter had better ideas and wandered off to make some new friends to #whpplay with 🦊.
We haven’t had the chance to have a solo day with either of the boys since before harlen was born so it was wonderful to be able to spend some quality time with Hunter. I think it’s so important for us to try and make one on one time with our littles but it’s something we struggle with in our house. Next time around mama gets a day out with Haylan while daddy takes Hunter to see his side of the family. I try and follow the kids lead when we go out, so I’m super excited to see what adventures he takes me on! .
Mamas with more than one babe, what do you do to spend one on one time with your littles?
Check out my stories for a before and after of this edit, I was experimenting with cutting out animals as I’d never tried it before and I actually quite like how it turned out. Not too bad for a first attempt 😅 if any of you wonderful humans have any photoshop tips or creative accounts to check I will be eternally grateful 💖
🇺🇸 Welcome all new followers! I’m not the selfie kind of girl, so instead I’ll show you this photo of me in my home sewn dress at my cousins wedding 2 years ago 👗
Happy Father’s Day to my amazing husband!! When we were dating, I saw our future children in his eyes and knew that he would be an amazing daddy one day. Our boys are being raised by an honest, hard-working, good-hearted man, they are so blessed to have you in their lives! Thank you for everything you do for our family. You deserve an amazing day today.
Flowers with plastic bottles - my creative fix for this week. I had collected too many plastic bottles in my box of treasures (recyclable materials). I cut up the bottoms and stored them along with the bottle caps. I was going to have the kids paint these flowers but I happened to have a few quiet moments to myself yesterday and I couldn’t resist trying this out by myself. I used straws for the stems. I also used acrylic paints to paint the flowers. The flowers could have used another coat of paint to even things out but I didn’t have much time. I also didn’t have many colors left at home so I used up what I had. Just a quick and easy craft to fill my bucket and connect with myself ❤️ I look forward to doing this again with my kids. The bottoms can also be used as stamps with younger kids.
Found this while picking weeds in my Creative Habitat this week. Love how Mother Nature reminds me to follow my heart! ❤️ Speaking of Mother Nature...isn’t it interesting that natural habitats are built to suit mothers and their young while built environments often separate the two? At Creative Habitat, we are designing spaces and communities that meet both moms and kids needs equally well. We believe mother nurture designed after Mother Nature is essential to finding balance in this busy world we live in. When mom is nurtured she is able to pour more fully into her family and her community and that, my friends, is a beautiful design - because that is how our Creator designed us - to nurture and be nurtured in return. What momma can you nurture this week?
Just did something really exciting with all these petals 🌼 she was happy to make fairy soup with the leftovers ✨
I love colorful photos like these but have a hard time posting them! why is Instagram so hard 😩 trying to find a theme, consistent filters, plan your grid out... I have so many blog posts and so many product photos I feel like I never post because I’m trying to stay consistent and my squares are still not as pretty as I want them to be 😭 Who else struggles with this? I’m going to spend some time this weekend tweaking my photos a little bit because I have so many to share! ✨maybe a messy feed is just the way it’s going to have to be 🤷🏽♀️
Today was our annual street party. It's one of the highlights of my year because our community comes together for a few hours to celebrate - everyone from newborn babies to pensioners, from many different countries across the globe.
Community - I always laugh when people say that Londoners don't know their neighbours, because I know almost everyone in about a 10 house radius, and it feels a lot like living in a village!
Making the move from a corporate life to being an entrepreneur, once again it's community that comes to mind. I've met so many amazing people who have helped me on my journey, and I always so grateful for how generous fellow entrepreneurs have been with sharing their time and knowledge, and how patient they have been as I have asked my 1000th question. It's a steep learning curve sometimes, but great to have a community around me to help me on my way.
And community is only getting more and more important for retail too. In my mind, what is happening on the high street reflects how many of us are rejecting the bigger, soulless corporate retailers who have just let their store experience get boring.
Yes, more money is being spent online, but more is also being spent with independent retailers and new brands. People want to connect with something, they want to know who made what they are buying, and they want to feel that sense of community.
I've been in the retail industry for nearly 20 years, and it feels like now is an exciting time of renewal and re-birth, and I can't wait to see how small, purpose-led retailers are once again going to build their communities.
Fiber packs are on the website! Tag all of your weaver friends. It’s a great deal and a great way to try all those high end brands you’ve been wanting to experiment with! Message me with any questions you have.
It’s taken us a lot longer than usual to settle on a new baby name this time, and we’ve said, ”We might go with Easton Sawyer...” for a while now, but I think I can finally officially say yes, that is what we’ll name him!
Easton, you are already so loved and your brothers can’t wait to meet you and play with you! I can’t believe that this will happen in only a few short months! 😘
Now, easy on the kicks kiddo! You make me need to pee/not pee too much!
Even when it means you end up in wrist splints all summer because you have issues after lifting, changing, and feeding the litter of children who live with you. Sigh. Well that’s not the best part of this, but I’m still standing. 🙌🏻 Now to figure out how to change diapers with these silly splints... #100daysofpositiveselftalk#the100dayproject
