This is probably my favorite place in the Eastern Sierra right now. However, I've only explored such a small part of it that I can't say for certain it would stay that way. And then I start thinking of how I want to explore the entire world but I certainly won't be able to see every single inch of this planet in this lifetime...
“Falling in love is the easy part. Choosing to stand in it, even through adversity, shifts, and change is the hard work—the heartwork. When you find someone worthy of that time and effort, keep them close.” —Alexandra Elle
Together 13 years. Married 7 years tomorrow (Aug 18th). Still standing, rooted together. Choosing love. Respecting and supporting each other. This partnership isn’t perfect. It’s work. Heartwork.
Happy Anniversary to my love.
I think this year will be the most adventurous yet!

There are stories in everything. Old things take beauty from the stories they tell which is why so many of us love them so. I have been writing stories all of my life. I have self-published 2 books - a children's book "Diabetes Can't Stop Me" & a book on sustainable living "Healthy Planet, Healthy People, Healthy Home". My parents were english teachers and I was always a writer and reader. I remember winning a book week award for a book I wrote in year 1 at primary school and was always sending my poetry to the Sunday paper in Adelaide! English was my top subject, and writing always my dream. Having been a blogger for more than 15 years now and self publishing 2 books, the desire to write has only grown stronger. My greatest joy is in sharing stories with my children and young adults. My boys are now 9, 19 & 24 years old, and we have shared so many stories over the years. Even in my counselling work, my passion for #narrativetherapy reflected my interest in human stories, and how these both build and reflect our lives.
I believe writing for children and young adults is so important because there are a myriad of reasons for this age group to continue to be switched on to what matters in life through books, and for stories to change their lives. I love the ability of children to move between reality and fantasy, and the way they can cut through the bullshit. I think we can all enjoy stories written for these age groups and young adult novels are some of my personal favourites. I believe it is important that we write stories for these age groups that reflect their personal struggles, achievements, dreams and futures, as well as the big issues and stories that entertain and encourage imagination. Watch this space! I have some new books in the planning! For it is in the telling and the sharing of stories that we see the world, understand our lives, our histories, possibilities, and ourselves #amwriting#bookstagram .
