Got these 20 center pieces done and ready for their wedding this weekend! These were made from rough cut Ash (at least I think it was Ash). After I removed the saw marks and flattened one side by hand, I moved over to the planer to flatten the other side and to get them all an average thickness. Finished with satin poly, and ready to get hitched! (Or ready to be on a table while others get hitched!)
It’s hard to believe now that there was a time when you would go to a mall, walk into a Sears and buy USA made high quality tools, including lathes, quality drill presses, table saws, radial arm saws, routers and planers. Sears, Roebuck and Co. distributed a fine line of tools back in the day. Now there a shadow of their former self, selling junk tools at Lowe’s and other places, that are damn near all made in China. What a shame.
This caught my eye in an email from #ShopYourWay the other day.
Seems that @Sears #Sears is launching a new #20v#Cordless#PowerTool line.
Gave me a chuckle because its obviously not the #StanleyBlackAndDecker#SBD new #V20 line.
Also got me scratching my head as to why now?
Sears isn't long for this world, and they already have the #C3 19.2v line, that seems to have been abandoned.
Probably just looking to confuse buyers and cash in on the SBD V20 hype.
Oh Sears 🙄😅 After poking around a bit online, i read the @toolmag #ToolGuyd article.
Here's the link!
@craftsman thanks for making an awesome flashlight. This guy has been helping me deploy generators and check on sites for damagethe past few days. Its been beat up, dropped, rained on and dropped in a road flooded with storm water. #craftsmantools#centurylink#hurricaneflorence @centurylink

Did an unexpected repair on Douglas today; the shifter pulled off right into my hand in traffic 😬 I still managed to jam it back in and drive home. Pulled off the shift boot (it's been torn as long as I've had it) and the retaining "cup" had backed its way completely off and the shifter pulled right out. I took everything out, cleaned and greased everything, cleaned the threads and put it all back together. Now I guess I need to buy an intact shift boot and patch up the mat.
