Ginger is one of our native botanicals that gives ARC Botanical Gin its unique flavor profile, a true taste of the Philippines!
Our fresh organic ginger, scientifically known as Zingiber officinale, is sourced locally and chopped the day we distill to maintain its peak flavor. During a careful 8-hour distillation process on our state-of-the-art custom copper pot still, the ginger imparts a slightly woody, spicy-sweet warmth to our citrus-forward gin recipe.

Safe and sound at home after a whirlwind wedding weekend in SouthBoston, VA. Very grateful to our hosts at @springfield1842, Kelly and James Gordon, who went above and beyond to make our first stay in Halifax County at their historic farm, inn, and distillery so warm and wonderful. Their delicious, smokey rum has already made its way into a welcome home pina colada! @springfielddistillery

Even before we opened the doors of our tasting room June 27th, we worked tirelessly to create a portfolio of spirits that encompass the Asheville pallet. From the approachable American-style gin with notes of fresh flowers and citrus rind, to the unoaked apple brandy made with @urbanorchardcider and to the tannic and vanilla-kissed barrel-rested gin, we have created a line-up we are proud of. These three spirits are our first ventures into the craft of handmade spirits, but they definitely aren't the last. We look forward to continuing to provide Asheville with the best we can offer. #spiritofasheville

Grain Vodka (Made with Wheat)
This Vodka was quite the accident. We were trialling different bases with which to create our infused spirits from and found that this one particularly was just too smooth. Made with micronized wheat grains which give this Vodka a really clean raw taste. Polished through a charcoal filter just before filtering again directly into the bottle, this is the perfect base to recreate that Vodka Screwdriver, maybe sneaking in an extra shot if it’s just been one of those days. Keep it at just one extra shot though, we don’t want to be the reason that you miss that once in a lifetime job interview the next day. You got this!
Ashley surprises me each year for my birthday with a visit to a local distillery. This year, she found @McLaughlinDistillery in Sewickley, PA.
@McLaughlinDistillery produces two Bourbons, both with the same mash bill but their Baby Barrel Bourbon is aged in smaller barrels. They also distill some unique Whiskeys, such as Grandma’s Rocking Chair Whiskey and Devil’s Juice Whiskey, which is a 120 proof pour, and if you like smoke, this one just might be intense enough for you! In addition, they offer a large variety of various moonshines, all of which are quite tasty. Personally, I enjoyed their Bourbons the most, so that is what we took home with us along with their Maple Syrup that comes from the owner’s land in New York and is aged in their used barrels (some of which they make on site). .
The Distillery itself has both character and charm along with a Tasting Room up front, where guests can sample any of their products.
For more information, visit www.mclaughlindistillery.com. We definitely recommend a visit!
