The SIDRO of the Perugia brewery is produced using organic apples from a Montepulciano farm and is fermented with Saison yeast as evidence of its close relationship with the brewing world. The cider is then refermented in the bottle and aged in glass. It has a straw-yellow color with a fine foam that fades quickly. On the nose there is obviously the apple, especially the sourness of the verda apple against a background of white grapes. Despite the good alcohol content (8%) in the mouth it is rather light and is characterized by a lively and pleasant sparkling and by a good harshness with references to the apple verda, to the grape and to some spicy note. It is a cider that can be drunk very easily thanks to the dry and very refreshing finish.
Good Gourd Imperial Pumpkin from Cigar City really has us feeling this fall weather...then again, maybe it's the 8.8%
Come down and grab a glass while it lasts -- try it with our Double Bacon Meltdown Grilled Sandwich!!
First day of #fall means spending the day hanging out on the @capitalbrewery #patio . You can’t beat sunny and 65 as a high.
The Capital Brewing Mutiny #IPA is the beer of choice for this fine day. Taking in the florally citrus upfront, but enjoying the nice Carmel malt backbone. #cheers
Triple IPA Projekt 013 by Poppels
Well, this is a first. A beer from Poppels that I don’t completely agree with. It’s just way to heavy on the booze to be entirely pleasant. While it looks good and starts of really nice with a sweet tropical aroma it sucker punches you in the throat with the taste. 10,5% just feels way to boozy. Don’t get me wrong! I absolutely love a beer that pinches my cheeks with the alcohol, but I have a problem when that pinch doesn’t have a lot of flavour to back it up. A stout easily pulls of the trick of having an 10,5% abv but that works because it’s also pouring coffee and dark chocolate down your throat at the same time. In this triple IPA the taste just folds under all that alcohol. It would have needed to be a hell of a lot hoppier and maltier to carry all that booze. But that is just my opinion. Still love Poppels though and I’m starting to feel a bit tipsy now. So thanks for that 👍 On to the next one! .
I'll not be scoring @verdantbrew beers ongoing, just assume 5/5! No joke, running out of superlatives for these guys. Maybe it's because their core style suits my palate, or maybe, they are all brewing wizzards! This is 🔥💥🔥💥🔥💥🔥💥🔥#hazy pillowy #soft#thick#rich#sweetmalts#apricot#mango#orange ney bitterness, thank you guys 🙌👏🔥💥🍻👊
