Every year I share this post and I will continue to as long as Instagram and Facebook are relevant. My close friends know that I have had premonitions my whole life. When I was pregnant I just knew I was going to lose "Baby Brown" to SIDS. I was adamant that anyone that would be watching Mason take infant CPR. Everyone thought I was just nervous about being a first time Mom and especially since we had lost one baby before. But in my heart I knew I wasn't wrong.
My first week back to work, Mason quit breathing. At first Jacob thought he was asleep but realized quickly that wasn't the case. I still to this day am not sure if I did infant CPR correctly, but it worked. After all the tests that were performed, the doctors could not say for sure what happened to Mason. To this day I believe it was going to be SIDS.
I hope anyone that is having a baby goes to an infant CPR class before their little miracle arrives. You never know when you might need to know it. I don't think this is something we will ever truly be over. We still had a video monitor in Mason's room up until this year. We didn’t look at it much but there were times when he took a super long nap or slept in and I couldn’t help but to look at that monitor to make sure he was still breathing. Life is so precious. I don't live in fear but I try to be prepared if the unthinkable were to happen. I am glad we were prepared. #infantcpr#cpr#infantcprtraining#infantcprclass
