sorry we’ve been a bit MIA! we’ve been parked on my (gwen’s) parents land in SE arizona for the last week or so, just finishing some rv projects, reconnecting with my roots, being a little more present with family and a little more distant on IG 😊
on the other hand I have finally had the chance to sit down and edit a ton of drone footage from our first 2 months on the road. I am in awe of all the beautiful places we’ve already seen and i’ve been able to dive into some deep gratitude that this journey is even possible for us. i’m missin’ these sand dunes a little extra today 💗
where’s your favorite place you’ve visited so far?
When I first met this guy, I knew he was pretty great, but the best stuff has really been revealed with time. He’s always been a great travel buddy and an amazing friend, but recently I’ve seen him go up against some moral and ethical dilemmas that can sometimes come with adulthood. While facing these issues, he’s stood his ground like a true protagonist and hasn’t let anyone deter him from what he thinks is right. He’s also taking some time to reevaluate his vision for the future and taking action to design and create this reality instead of letting it stay a dream. I couldn’t be more proud of him. I know we’re on the same page with things like going for gold in life, and it makes me so happy to have a partner that is just as stubbornly determined as I am to achieve his goals and enjoy the ride along the way. I’m so thankful to get to figure out life with you ❤️
it’s not easy living in a such small space with your partner. since we were coming off of working opposite schedules before this journey, we were used to spending whatever time was available, together. we’ve had to learn how to ask for alone time. how to communicate when we’re getting annoyed instead of burying it until it bubbles up into a fight. how to respect each others space.
I think the really beautiful part about it is we’re never “done”. there’s always room to grow, to learn, to evolve. as long as we’re both willing, there’s always steps that we can take together to get to an even better place. it’s not easy, but it is so, so worth it.🧡
p.s. i’m still posting pictures from the salt flats because they are literally my favorite place i’ve ever been. we got so many gorgeous pictures, I keep looking back and finding new ones I like. 🙈
p.p.s. go VOTE 🇺🇸
Trying out some sunbursts with my new camera! ☺️ ☀️It was hard to find a place to escape the sun at high noon, but we actually found a little tourist-free nook right in the main square in Split that was grassy, had some nice rocks to sit on, and was right in the shadows of Dioclecian’s Palace. 🏛 The sun was peaking out from over the ruins, throwing flares of light all over the place. After some trial and error, I used a 2.5 second shutter speed. It was just enough to make the burst a perfect shape, but reduce all the crazy flares everywhere else 💫 so much fun! #croatiaphotography
Sunsets with you are always perfect ❤️
This was one of our fave nights where we just headed down to the beach in San Sebastián and were treated to this gorgeous view. We sat perched on the wall with a local bottle of wine watching the colour of the sky turn in to hues of oranges and yellows as another day of exploring came to an end. It was the perfect way to start our evening before we went back into the old town and Pintxos hopped from one spot to another (if you don’t know what that is, do yourself a favour and google it)
Are you a sunrise or sunset kind of person? ☀️
We like libraries A LOT and try to visit one in the cities we go to. 🧐📚 This one is quite exceptional bookstore/library in Xi'an, China. Zhongshu bookstore of futuristic interior represents a modern part on an ancient city of Xi'an. Architects say that it "also represents the great urban revival that Xi’an is currently experiencing".
Happy birthday to the man who always treats me like a princess 👸🏻❤️
So happy we finally got to celebrate our birthdays together for the first time 🎂 This year has been a year of many firsts, and we have so many more left 💕 Can’t wait to keep having more amazing first experiences with you by my side. 😘👫
HAPPY BIRTHDAY @cainesciascia 🎈🎉
San Sebastián, a dreamy little coastal spot in Spain, had our heart from our first step off the platform and into its gorgeous town
After a few weeks in the cold weather we were delighted when we felt the warmth of the Spanish sun hit our faces as we left the train station and made our way to the Pensión, our home for the next few nights. Located within the unmistakably beautiful old town we wandered through and were amazed by the cobblestone streets and quaint architecture
