Sometimes it’s just impossible to know what’s around the corner. It’s all out of my hands and that’s rather unsettling to say the least. But hopefully there will eventually be light beyond the trees. Time will tell. Life is just one long journey full of twists and turns. #mummyshot#ukparentbloggers#snaphappybritmums
Landen, Emily and their animals had their big day at The Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto.
Landens Netherlands Black Otter Dwarf "Pudge" placed 2nd. He was super nervous and everytime the judge picked up Pudge Landen could be seen biting his nails.
Emily then purchased herself a Netherlands Black Otter Dwarf that also placed at the fair from Kelly Jones from Rural Roots Rabbitry and Poultry in Dunsford. Emily has lovingly named it "Isabella"
Landen and Emily will be kicking butt and taking names with their show rabbits in the next few years with Kelly being their mentor. Both kids are over the moon happy to be gifted time from Kelly to learn and to jump into the hobby of rabbit showing.
One of Landen and Emilys Black Bantom Cochin Chickens placed 3rd which rhey were generously donated from Laura Catherine Bennett. The kids had a huge smile ear to ear. Thank-you for making that happen Laura and for setting them up for more smiles with their show quality chickens in future fairs and shows.
Emily also came in 4th in the Jr Showmanship class with her chicken and Landen placing 5th.
Thank-you to Ashleigh Leonard for all your hard work. It is very appreciated.
We are so lucky to live in a place where my kids are taken under the wings of so many talented and amazing men and women.
Jake also surprised me and bought me this sweater because I think the are the coolest things, plus my Aunt owns one so they must be cool.
When I was wearing it at the Royal somebody told me they are referred to as "Drug Rugs" in Toronto. Well good thing I live in the country where people will view me as wearing a warm sweater and not a "drug rug"
And just like that we are back to Monday again already. It’s a special one today though as my Dad will be celebrating his 76th birthday while my son goes back to school, swimming and Cubs. I wonder what else this week will bring. #countrykidsfun#mummyshot

Today was a quieter day after our busy Saturday of Netball & rugby. Our day went a bit like this:
Pancakes 🥞 for breakfast
Remembrance Service watched ❤️
Dog 🐶 walked 🍂
Roast chicken 🍗 all cooked, eaten & tidied away
One child bathed the other currently wallowing 🛀
Lunches 🥪 being sorted
Ironing 👚👕 being done
And I’m about to finish off my last ever @digitalmums Social Media Manager report!! 😬🙈🤞🏼
Hope you’ve had a fab Sunday & you are ready for whatever this week brings you.
The Forest of Dean is gobsmackingly beautiful at this time of year.
We had a lovely weekend, but I am exhausted and not ready for the new week, with so many deadlines coming up and my parents arriving from France.
I think spending the rest of the day under some blankets may be in order.
I spy with my little eye a boy who’s ready for another adventure. Today’s adventure will involve a train journey and lots of Lego as well as catching up with his birthday sharing cousin and her partner. Oh and croissants! Our train journeys often start with a croissant bought from the cafe at our local station, yum! What plans have you got for today? #mysonismyworld#countrykidsfun#outdoorsandhappy

Some more holiday spam!
Its absolutely howling a gale outside tonight and I would love to be back @Kianibeachresort lapping up the sun. Theres a video over on my youtube channel where you can get an inside peak to the resort. Why not head over, I would love to hear what you think. #ad#presstrip
In other news I have an exciting Saturday planned with a couple of girlfriends which includes eating in the pitch black and at least three different cocktail bars.... I will be sharing some of it in my insta stories over the weekend.
This picture is one of laughter, fun and joy but we're as far as it's possible to be from that today. My poor baby spent over half of last night and her first part of the day today crying about the pain she's in with her face. It breaks my heart. I'm doing everything I can but still cannot take all her pain away and that's a harsh reality for a mummy, exhausted or not. 😢

Happy hump day! The weather was cold and wet for most of the day and by far the most Autumunal I've experienced this year. Which has got me wishing we were back on the beach in twenty four degree heat, white (and pink) sand with the sea gently lapping at the shore. Instead I am going to have to be content with flicking through pictures. Not that I can complain too much as Monkey and I are off on another exciting trip next week. Which both of us are insanely excited about. It may have more to do with the white stuff than the sand stuff though.
But for now I am keeping my fingers crossed the bad weather is gone by the weekend
The nights are drawing in and school is back in full swing after our whirlwind trip to Disneyland Paris. #linkinbio We’re practicing Christmas Carols already in choir and getting ready for Remembrance Day on Friday by creating a massive poppy to display on the school gates. It’s going to be made out of ribbon with donations going towards the British Legion! Have you got your poppy yet?
Wednesday again, we are getting closer to a weekend of new adventures by the minute! I know you shouldn’t wish your life away but at this time of year it’s the promise of the weekends that are getting us through the darker evenings. Let’s get this day done! #mummyshot#countrykidsfun
Nearly nine, but still to be found with a stick in hand. There was a time when he wouldn't entertain the idea of going down a slide, or climbing a ladder, let alone trying the monkey bars. He's still a little risk averse compared to his friends but who cares when you see a smile like this one on his face. Simple pleasures are what childhood is all about, don't you think? #tbcsmiles#mysonismyworld#snaphappybritmums
One day left with my girls until it’s back to school tomorrow. People always look at me strangely when I say this but I love them being off school with me. They are such much fun to be around.
Anyway, we are going to spend the day at the museums having a potter followed by tea at Nanas. Have a good Monday!
Woo hoo I'm back on insta! Looking forward to catching up with everyone.
A busy summer while my niece stayed with us for the holidays, a new role as teacher at our waldorf inspired kindergarten, as well as forest school leader, and a broken phone (which actually I could have fixed ages ago but it involved going into the city so...) has meant a little break.
The season has certainly changed since I last posted here! We've been enjoying sunny woodland walks, collecting autumn treasures and even watching the first fluttering snowflakes fall! ☀️ 🍂 ❄️ #hopeicanrememberhowtodothis
So here we are, end of the half term, my eldest had two weeks off and we managed to fit a whole lot into that fortnight. We went glamping, rocked Halloween, explored Cheltenham, went skating and I managed to pretty much keep it together without dropping too many balls (okay a few balls were dropped). In all honesty it’s really hard being a freelancer, working from home with work being a real financial necessity, as well as keep on top of the house, life admin and try make a little time for our own wellbeing - wow modern society expects a lot us ladies. Anyway as always being outdoors with two active boys is much easier than being in and we got to try out this awesome go-cart from @kettlergb which really helped to keep them entertain & outdoors, away from screens. I have one of these to giveaway over on my blog (link in description) so check it out. #ad#gocarting#getoutdoors#lovelifeoutside#freespiritedchildhood#kidswhoexplore#letthembelittle
