We had such a blast at the Wags & Whiskers Gala at Pirates Cove pavilion on Friday night!
What an amazing event with so many amazing people.
Our shelter would like to give a heartfelt thank you to all of the sponsors, attendees, volunteers, supporters, and everybody else who helped make this event such a success.
This was a starlit night for the animals that we won’t soon forget.
Our shelter truly appreciates the outpouring of support we continue to receive from this amazing community.
Heaven? Or hell?
Can you imagine having a sweet tooth and spending most of your time each day making these? Cooking them Hot, Fresh, to order? Pouring the hot chocolate and gliding the peanut butter drizzle across? The scented essence permeating the air, surrounding you with an addictive aroma...

At bedtime tonight Penny was trying to convince me that she NEEDED a new pet. She assumes that if she puts it on her Christmas list and asks Santa that he will surely bring it. So I asked her what kind of pet she was hoping for... “A wild Spanish mustang from Corolla, the fattest one in the herd. I love fat pets.” Good luck, Santa. You’re going to need it. 🎅🏽
Get ready Avon!
We’re packing up the van and heading down to the Ace Hardware in Avon this Saturday, November 17th!

It’s rainy and chilly outside so I’ll be snuggled up here in the cat room! Come say hi!
The Outer Banks is known for its sunrises, so you have to do your research to find the best sunset spot. Orange 🍊 you glad I found it at Whalehead House in @currituckobx 😉There, locals and visitors alike line up to watch the sunset like they’re going to a movie or a concert. I actually put the camera down to take it in — would you believe me if I told you it was even better than this? #currituckobx 🌅
This long weekend honors the many men and women, and their families, who have served to protect our country and the wonderful freedoms we enjoy everyday.
We sincerely thank you for all that you have done for us!!
There’s nothing quite like the Outer Banks in the Fall. More seashells, less crowds and blue skies.
