This video was taken of me from this years Malta 5 Day Swim Camp at St Julian’s to show the speed you can generate from understanding how your body moves through water. 
Next years camp has filled so we have decided to put on another. The camp builds the #oceanwalkertechnique through a series of stages. These stages provide you with body awareness, still head, core stability, arm positions under water and on top. It cuts out the chance of shoulder injury as there is no lifting arm over head, no arm driving and no high catch the three biggest causes of shoulder injury. The OCEAN WALKER TECHNIQUE leads with injury prevention first working within the bodies natural range and provide speed and stamina through the more efficient core muscles for endurance and power. Just like in land based sports where the core powers the movement. Golf, kayaking, boxing, shot put, discuss, baseball, javelin, climbing and even walking/running etc etc. Basically most land based sports are lead from the core, so the question to myself was why not Swimming? The core powers the swim stroke like it powers the movement on land, this is why I get the BIG glide. You should check it out, it will open your mind to a much more effective/efficient way of swimming.

Viele können sich nicht so wirklich vorstellen, was Hooverball eigentlich ist.

Ich versuche meist die Erklärung dann so simpel wie möglich zu halten: "Es ist fast wie Beachvolleyball, nur spielen wir  mit einem 3kg #medizinball."
Leider hinterlässt diese Erklärung nur noch mehr Fragezeichen in den Gesichtern: "Und wie #baggert

Gar nicht. Also zumindest empfehlen wir es dir nicht.

Mach dir doch einfach mal selbst ein Bild davon und swipe nach links👍🏼 Ich habe längere Zeit nach einem geeigneten Spielball gesucht und bin dann letzendlich bei @atxpower fündig geworden.

This video was taken of me from this years Malta 5 Day Swim Camp at St Julian’s to show the speed you can generate from understanding how your body moves through water. 
Next years camp has filled so we have decided to put on another. The camp builds the #oceanwalkertechnique through a series of stages. These stages provide you with body awareness, still head, core stability, arm positions under water and on top. It cuts out the chance of shoulder injury as there is no lifting arm over head, no arm driving and no high catch the three biggest causes of shoulder injury. The OCEAN WALKER TECHNIQUE leads with injury prevention first working within the bodies natural range and provide speed and stamina through the more efficient core muscles for endurance and power. Just like in land based sports where the core powers the movement. Golf, kayaking, boxing, shot put, discuss, baseball, javelin, climbing and even walking/running etc etc. Basically most land based sports are lead from the core, so the question to myself was why not Swimming? The core powers the swim stroke like it powers the movement on land, this is why I get the BIG glide. You should check it out, it will open your mind to a much more effective/efficient way of swimming.

The foundation of your strength work will always be done using progressive loading with free weights... building strength through squats, deadlifts, presses, rows etc wich also helps you improve your pillar/core strength and stability.... however adding in some extra focused pillar/core strength work can add further value and benefit to your performance and injury resilience. 
Especially incorporating exercises that allow you to create tension and bulid strength through the hip - abdominal - torso - shoulder chain, working as a combined simultaneously working unit.

Here are two examples of that with @wes_chetty doing an ergo seat push pull and rotational cable pillar/core strength and stability exercises.

Good pillar/core strength = Improved performance and decreased injury risk!
