happy one month to my person <3
you’re the funniest, kindest & most beautiful girl i’ve ever seen in my life. i remember the first time i spoke to you, it feels like yesterday. i don’t think you liked me that much at first, but i remember thinking that you were just one of the funniest people i’ve met. not long after your messy break up with my brother[i had to] we started getting really close. i would stay up so late my eyes started burning, because i refused to stop talking to you. you would always make me smile and laugh, even when i didn’t want to. even though we were in a little bit of a situation, the thought of you with someone else was eating me up, so i waited until i thought it was appropriate to ask you out. i remember that day so clearly, because i was so nervous. i was talking to jaeden, arguing with her if i should even do it. of course, since it’s jaeden, she convinced me to do it, and i did. it was the best thing i’ve ever done. everyday you continue to make my days so much better, and i admire you for that. you’re always there for me when i need it the most, and i’ll forever be grateful for that. i try to tell you everyday how beautiful and amazing you are, but i could never say it enough. i know “i love you” is just three simple words, but there’s no other way i can explain my love for you. you take your time to say goodnight to me every night, you spam the crap out of me with cute ass messages if i’m a gumdrop and forget to answer, and you take the time out of your day, every day to be exact, to tell me that you love me. and i could never ask for more. i miss you when you leave for a day, and i miss you when you leave for 5 minutes. call me clingy, but if you were aria’s boyfriend, and knew how amazing she is, you would miss her constantly too. i love you more and more for each day that goes by, if that’s even possible and i can’t wait for many more month anniversary’s to come. i love you so much, it actually hurts. again, happy one month baby and i love you.
#Jurassic Turners Falls Formation, looking end-on at strata in a mudstone-layer that represents deposits from one of several small lakes that were present ~195 million years ago in the Rift Valley that is now known as the Connecticut River Valley. The little dip / divot in the strata at lower right is a ripple, in cross section. Many great sedimentary structures are preserved in this formation and its equivalents to the south within the Mesosozoic Hartford Basin and the rest of the Newark Supergroup-- including mud cracks, all sorts of varieties of ripple marks, and a few raindrop impression. This formation is perhaps most famous for its therapod (i.e., dinosaur) footprints-- the bounty of rich gentleman scholars in the 19th century, extracted from quarries now under the dammed Connecticut River. Many of these footprints are now on display at an excellent exhibit in the Beneski Museum in Amherst. Local, private, collectors have agreements with private landowners and quarry them to give to schools and for educational purposes. A great local conglomeration of rockhounds, paleontologists, and educators will appear at local gem and mineral shows under the auspices of The Jurassic Roadshow-- they do fantastic work. And while fossils and gems are fun and can be fascinating, as a geologist, I'm less interested in collecting those things as momentos and much more interested the stories they tell: in what their presence says about the earth, the climate, the tectonic process at the time they were formed; what they tell us about how this planet works and how life on it evolves. The presence of a fossil or specific mineral in an area is a clue, and often a vital one, and I'm out to help solve the mystery of what this is all about. Or I was. Now I'm working several jobs just to try to make ends meet and don't really have the time or enthusiasm to think about such things. Got to pay rent.
