Turquoise is my favorite gem, I love the sky blue color and spiderweb patterns. Every gems is unique!
Ancient peoples from Egypt to Mesoamerica and China treasured this vivid blue gem. It’s a rare phosphate of copper that only forms in the earths most dry and barren regions.

The @britanniaminemuseum celebrates 114 years of discoveries since the mine first opened in 1904. In its heyday, the mine was the economic backbone of British Columbia as the largest copper producer in the British Commonwealth. Pictured here is the Machine Shop, the oldest industrial building at Britannia. Here, tradesmen made and fixed tools and equipment for underground and surface operations.
