Feeeelin a throwback today to this cozy bowl of ✨GOLDEN SPICE OATS✨. Wish I was able to eat this yummy bowl this Christmas Eve morning 🎄but I was out by 6:30 on an educational trip to learn about some of the Muslim communities in Israel 🙃! Cool day, but no pretttty eats 🙈. Now it's nighttime here so I'm back in bed super early to watch The Grinch 🎅🏻and prep for work tomorrow (no Christmas Day off here in Israel 😞). What are you up to this Christmas Eve 💚❤️?!
1/2 cup oats 👌🏻
1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk 🥛
Lots of turmeric, cinnamon, ginger, and splash on vanilla 👅
🌟TOPPED WITH🌟 frozen raspberries, peaches 🍑, chocolate chunks, @barneybutter honey and flax almond butter, honey 🍯, and cinnnamon 😊
Time for the peppermint recipes to begin! Except I’ve already been sharing them with you😂 Here is the recipe for my Healthy Peppermint Truffles, aka my new love! They’re SO delicious, have a surprise ingredient (beans!!), and are also paleo and vegan!
5 large medjool dates (@ndmedjooldates)
1/2 cup almond flour (@bobsredmill)
1/4 cup cacao powder (@thrivemkt)
1/4 cup nut butter ( I used @eatnuttzo )
1/4 cup packed black beans (rinse and pat them dry!) 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
Steps: Blend dates in food processor until they form a ball (aka are blended up well). Throw in the rest of the ingredients and blend until well combined and they form a dough. Roll into balls (mine made 11) and ENJOY!

Wow! After an early morning 20 mile #bike 🚴♀️ ride, a run 🏃♀️ to @goldsgym #venice w/ a back, biceps 💪 & abs #workout , I then met a friend for #coffee @urthcaffe
I actually had a chai ☕️ latte. I love ❤️ the #latteart
Then a quick run to the computer 💻 repair store because my laptop wasn’t charging. Then I grabbed a #juice at my favorite @wholefoods in Venice
While at coffee, I spoke with my friend Tom, who helped me write, produce & edit my first #cookingshow pilot
Tom & I talked about what it’s like to work from home & how his girlfriend has a standing desk at work but rarely uses it because it doesn’t easily convert. She states, “too many things to move during the conversion.”
Tom suggested she START her day standing & then move to a seated position once she’s just DONE ✅ standing.
I thought this was a great idea. I built a standing desk and fit it under my loft bed. But when I stand, my head nearly hits the underside of the bed, and I feel like I need to keep my head down.
Then I thought about the makeshift cooking shelf I made for my #cooking demos.
It’s just a piece of wood painted w/ chalkboard paint that I use in my demos.
I place the wood with one end on the edge of the counter & the other on the table I built, and voila, I have a workstation.
Normally I sit on my fluffy, comfy futon to work, & I end up taking a 1-2 hour nap at some point because I am just TOO comfy cozy.
As someone who rode 20 miles before most people got out of bed, I can tell you that being uncomfortable is not something I fear. I embrace it.
So now I’m standing, feeling surprisingly wide awake. Prepared to put my full energy into my work. Plus you burn like 10 more calories an hour. Ok. It’s actually 6 more calories an hour for women & 11.4 calories an hour for men. But it all adds up. Plus you ENGAGE #muscle not engaged while sitting: core #abs , lower back, #glutes , shins (tibialis anterior) & I would think, all muscles of your lower legs. Anyway, you’ll feel it when you do it. So just do it. Stand & work. Be uncomfortable. It’s good for you! 😊
If you don’t know what time it is, just ask Jaya! ⏱🥔🤣 As I have mentioned before, I don’t enjoy cooking but lately cooking with him has had me laughing and liking the process. I pretend that I am hosting a televised cooking show and I talk to him and the audience. 😂 I find myself explaining to him what we are doing, what comes next, why we discard certain things and the importance of cooking with gratitude for the food we have before us. Believe it or not, he joined his hands together over the potatoes and said “gracias buddi” translation: “Thank you, Buddha” Side note 📝: We are not Buddhist but it is the organized religion that we relate with most. It’s beautiful to watch this little soul express gratitude and genuinely take interest in preparing meals with me. He now asks me to sit him up on the counter when he sees me gathering ingredients. Learning to love cooking with my love, Jaya! Pure magic. 🙏🏼✨ #graciasbuddi
