Hey guys, I am Douglas Rohde and I am the art director and younger brother of Paleo On The Go owner, David Rohde. Over the next few months, we will be introducing you to the real people who work behind the scenes at POTG to plan, cook, package, and ship real food directly to your door.
I helped David start POTG almost 7 years ago. I watched as my brother struggled with health issues for years before he found that eating a real food, strict, Paleo diet helped ease his symptoms. He introduced my wife and I to the Paleo lifestyle, and as we researched, we decided it was the healthiest way for us to eat, especially as brand new parents seeking the best way to introduce solids to our 6-month-old. He is now 6 years old and he and his siblings love their paleo treats.
David and I discussed food and its relation to health. He remarked how repetitive and boring his cooking had become and how he would love a variety of great tasting meals pre-made, waiting in the fridge. It still amazes me how this seemingly simple thought turned into the business it is today; chef prepared, great-tasting meals delivered all over the country. .
The reality was a huge undertaking. David began working on the business side while I created the logo and website, and had to learn a lot about e-commerce, and fast! You could say things were simpler then, compared to a business that ships ~20,000 orders a year. The amount of work in the marketing department alone now is more than I ever imagined: weekly newsletters, packaging design, marketing collateral, social media posting and interacting, just to name a few. And that’s just the marketing department! It has been a great ride so far, and I am excited about the future here at POTG.

Ok raving moment!!!!..... for those who know me know that I love gifting Chris’ teachers with the cutest gifts. Something to make them feel valued and also appreciated, so I knew that when @thekookyjar posted their fall Live special I HIT THE LOTTERY! ... I can not explain the joy that my son’s teacher face displayed when she saw this beautiful display and even more gorgeous cookies.
