Day 1 of my new workout program: complete! I love starting a new program. All I can say is my poor, invisible triceps are jello, and I’m reeeeeally bad at tricep pushups. Like, I was barely moving. Something to work toward! Ha!

Wir haben uns dafür entschieden, dass wir die Themen erst einmal recht allgemein halten, so als einfacher Einstieg sozusagen und um es Euch nicht allzu schwer zu machen. 😎 Bei der nächsten Challenge gehen wir dann ins Detail und es kommen einzelne Länder, Zutaten usw. hinzu. 🌍 💡 Wie nimmt man teil? Ganz einfach, postet einfach zum entsprechenden Tagesthema ein passendes Kochbuch und erzählt ein bisschen was darüber. Ein Blick ins Buch wäre auch ganz interessant, aber ist kein Muss. Am I the only one who reads cookbooks like they're novels? I found the first and second volumes of Mastering the Art of French Cooking for $2! I'm obsessed with my cookbooks to say the least. I started counting them today and decided to stop when I got to 50. I work hard to provide a better life for my dogs and to hoard cookbooks like the elusive book-lovers of Farenheit 451.
Thanks to @radhikadossa, I am embarking on the task of posting some/all of my cookbooks and food books here. I will do them by theme. @anissahelou is a friend and one of the most significant cookbook authors in the Levant - the Eastern Mediterranean - Feast being her latest magnum opus of some of the standout dishes of all the countries of the Islamic world. Anissa is Christian, part Lebanese and part Syrian and trained in art, worked as an art dealer till, fortunately for us, she made the switch to the world of food. The essays in Levant are engrossing, whether it is about drying fruit and vegetables or pickling, or rambling around the souks of Beirut. I finally the Real Wonton Soup which I’ve wanted to make for ages. I thought it would be time consuming, but actually, this recipe is pretty quick and easy with few ingredients. I really liked that about it. The wontons are really great. They are easy to do and quite flavourful! The filling is made with shiitakes, tofu, carrot, garlic and green onions. The broth is mostly made with soy sauce, rice vinegar, ginger, garlic, spring onions and napa cabbage. It’s a good, basic broth that works with the wontons. x Elske .

Some fun facts about me, I am a homeschooler, a lover of all animals but my two rescued BC’s are my favorite. I am a master of the half tuck, prefer jeans to dresses, love quiet mornings on my paddle board and have a secret wish to play 🎸 electric guitar. I think about what’s for dinner as soon as I wake up and have piles of half finished knitting projects clogging up my drawers. I have a cookbook addiction and love toss clutter. I find a good closet clean out refreshing. My daughter is the opposite and insists on supervising me when I’m in her room 🤣.
