Sometimes our most unexpected days turn out to be the best ones! My tour was cancelled today so luckily my Uber drivers turned out to give wonderful suggestions! Did the scenic coastal walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee Beach and loved every second of it! I was tempted to bring home that kitty! #bondibeach#coogeebeach#coastalwalk#beach#australia#sydney
This week we are looking at sensing. It is through our senses; seeing, touching, smelling, tasting and moving that we come to know and enjoy the world around us. Music, art, communication, eating, instinct, connection, dance, etc all depend on our senses. The more aware we are of our senses the more responsive we can be in everyday life.
Our senses need to be nourished just as we nourish our physical and mental selves. Nourishing our senses also helps us tap into our creative sides, which in turn helps generate new energy and ideas. Today we will look at ways to connect and nourish our senses so we can tune into our body, mind, and our world around us. 💖 Seeing
Go outside, pause- and really look at your surroundings. What do you see? What do you notice? You will be surprised by the things that you see that you probably would have n noticed before. 💖Hearing
Pause, breathe and listen to everything in your surroundings- what can you hear? Try this outside in nature and be mindful of all the sounds around you. 💖Touch
Get a massage. Having a massage relaxes muscles, decreases stress, improves digestive health and just makes you feel good overall. You can also start paying more attention to the simple things, such as the breeze in your hair , or the touch of your head on the pillow. 💖Smell
Your sense of smell is already very strong. It can be very powerful. Do you ever find a certain smell can transport you back to a memory, moment or time? As an example, the smell of freshly cut grass can take you back to school and summer days of being outside- a perfume may resonate with a family member or friend. Surround yourself with the smells that make you happy. 💖Taste The connection between taste and your mood is very strong and can have a big impact on the way you feel. Chew your food and taste every bite. What can you taste? Start to have fun with all your senses see new things, listen to new sounds, smell new smells and taste new foods. These new experiences will help you grow on your journey to health and happiness.
Pinching myself that this is my life. I’m so grateful that I get to spend all my days by your side doing the things we love (except sleep..that ship has definitely sailed 💤) Choosing not to go back to work has been the BEST decision, I really don’t care if it’s tougher financially, I feel so much richer in happiness. Thank you for making me your mama and teaching me how to enjoy a simple life ♥️🙌
