Episode 164 #coffeewithkyler ... “How do you respond to the gift God has given you?” There are many talents and gifts the lord provides; speaking, leading, teaching, worshipping, serving, hospitality, etc. What is your gift? We have an obligation to use it to it’s full potential. The Bible promises that when we use our gifts they “make room for us”. What that means is as you pursue and develop the talents God has given you it will INCREASE your reach, your impact, your influence, and I believe you faith. I wonder.....how many people have you already touched by using your gift. 10? 50? 100? We’ll only know for certain when we reach heaven, but in the meantime I’d like to have a couple I know for sure. I hope this sparks a good conversation between you and God today! I love you all, cya tomorrow!! #love#learn#teach#train#leadership#responsibility#selfmade#jesus#god#holyspirit#prayer#communicate#conversation#collaboration#gifts#talents#abilities#strength#endurance

Yesterday, Senator Fraser Anning rose in our nation’s parliament to call - in his first speech - for a return to the discriminatory White Australia Policy. He also trotted out the term “final solution” which was once used by the Nazi regime to describe their policy of murdering millions of Jewish people. It was despicable and deplorable. A low point for our nation’s parliamentary debate. But in proof that tomorrow can always be a better day, here is what happened in the House of Representatives just moments ago... Jewish Liberal MP Josh Frydenberg crossed the chamber to put his arms around Muslim Labor MP Ed Husic, as the House of Representatives voted to condemn Senator Fraser Anning’s first speech. #hope

Discover ‘noble silence’. A beautiful state of mind that comes when #discursivethinking has stopped. Discursive thinking refers to thought that proceeds like an inner #discourse in our own minds. It may be imagining conversations with others, remembering past conversations, or talking to ourselves. It may involve abstract, analytical thinking about what is happening in the present moment. As discursive thinking quiets down, the mind becomes more peaceful. As agitation decreases, desire and aversion lessen. When this inner stilling is accompanied by confidence, #purity , and #equanimity then the mind is said to experience the fullness of #noblesilence
Because #insight meditation retreats are group retreats, practitioners spend a lot of time in silence alongside others. As they relax into the collective stillness, participants often discover that being together with others in silence allows for a rich sense of #connection that is more satisfying than if they had spent the same time engaged in #conversation . Rather than knowing others through the stories of who they are, what they do, and what they have done, the silence highlights our shared humanity and a direct feeling of #empathy and rapport. A wonderful lesson to take away from a retreat is how the quiet ways of being with others can allow for a deep sense of connection.
As people discover the great value of retreat silence, they can explore the uses of silence in daily life. Learning to be comfortable with silence expands what is possible in our #relationships —both with others and ourselves. Spending time in silence can enrich both. In particular, it can be a great support in helping us discover greater spiritual freedom wherever we are. And with freedom we can experience #stillness and #peace even in the midst of speech.

What are you trying to accomplish in your business? What does progress look like to you and how do you measure it? When I’m speaking to clients about this question I often hear references to the number of followers and website traffic. But those numbers don’t equal sales and that’s what we all need, right? The numbers to focus on are the ones that lead to increased business. ✅ But I’ll never turn down a new follower 😉 #wednesdaywisdom#sales#buildingabusiness#entrepreneur#measuring
The latest episode of A Few Quiet Ones is now available!
Heidi ( @bambimaryjane )was in town a few weeks ago and we figured it was a good idea to discuss dickpics, how creepy guys are online(and in IRL) toward girls and spoke about how we can try and start changing mens attitudes in 2018.
I'm definitely guilty of some extremely poor attitudes in the past and in all honesty, don't know how that came about, maybe because it was never challenged?
I think it is 100% possible to change your views, behaviours and attitudes and while I'm still a work in progress and have so much more to learn, I believe I am making a solid effort so far.
Have a listen and let me know what you think? (Still trying to reduce my ums and uhs, this was done on the spur of the moment and i didn't have notes and stuff prepared!) A huge thank you to Heidi for being willing to have this conversation with me, I’m extremely grateful. (Photo owned by Heidi and used with her permission.)
BIANCO Lei è un eretico?
NERO Stai cercando di mettermi nel sacco, professore.
BIANCO No, per niente. È un eretico o no?
NERO Non più di quanto dovrebbe esserlo chiunque. Anche chi ha una fede grande così. Non sono uno che dubita. Però sono uno che fa domande.
BIANCO E che differenza c'è?
NERO Be', secondo me chi fa domande vuole la verità. Mentre chi dubita vuole sentirsi dire che la verità non esiste.
Che poi si legge in poche ore
