Hi there! I would LOVE to introduce myself. I am Noelle Pollastrini. A hairstylist, dreamer, creator, and NOW salon owner of Theory Hair Studio. I grew up in the Sierra foothills of Northern California, just a stones throw away from South Lake Tahoe. I have a loving boyfriend and we share our life with our two kitties and dog. Over the past decade I spent my time becoming a cosmetologist, learning, growing, going through many obstacles, and pushing myself constantly to be better and find a missing niche in the industry. I want to serve you. I want to serve this community. I want to bridge the gap between the full and select service industry and offer something no one has before. I never thought I would ever leave my previous place of employment that I devoted so much energy, heart & soul to for 5 years. But I took a chance, said goodbye with no other job lined up, and wouldn't you know, another door of opportunity soon opened. I took an initial pay cut, but gained health, dental, vision & 401(k) benefits. Said see ya soon to my customers & vendors that I built relationships with over the past 5 years, but now I see them possibly more often.
My point of this post is to encourage anyone who is unhappy where they are at or feel stuck in life to take chances and allow yourself to grow. If you never take a chance in life, you will never know what your greatest potential could be.

No matter all the downs you’ve been through this year. Love yourself and love those who are beside you pushing you to be better. Keep your head up high and push forward. You still have a few more months left to make it better. Getting back to shape was my first step. Went from 193lbs to 169lbs in about 2.5 months. Let’s see what my next step brings! 🙏

Personal boundaries are guidelines, rules or limits that a person creates to identify reasonable, safe and permissible ways for other people to behave towards them and how they will respond when someone passes those limits. They are built out of a mix of conclusions, beliefs, opinions, attitudes, past experiences and social learning. - Wikipedia
The appropriateness of these boundaries depends heavily on the setting, what you say when you are out with friends may not be appropriate for a board room setting. Within personal boundaries our culture comes into play too, it is easy to misread what someone is trying to communicate if you only come from your cultural perspective.
So how do we navigate through personal boundaries? How do we recognize if we are being gas-lighted, disrespected? How do we understand our own rules and if they are healthy for us?
You can use these three traits to help you see where you are and where you want to rearrange your boundaries.
Rigid- Unlikely to ask for help, Very protective of personal information
Porous- Overshares personal information, Accepting of abuse or disrespect
Healthy- Values OWN opinions, Knows personal wants and needs and can communicate them.

The snooze 🛏 button almost won this morning 😬 a lot of self talk and determination goes a long way 🙏🏻. Getting back into my morning routine has been a challenge~ I ❤️ sleep 😴

My morning workout buddies and accountability crew is key 💪🏼 I’m always thankful that I did it and I know it’s the best way to start my day! (I think I need a vocal recording of this at 4:30am when the alarm is going off 🙄).
Yes... Do you ever hear people say that they thought they would have it “figured out when they were 30 or 35 ?” Well if you don’t put the work in to figure it out, the answers won’t just fall in your lap. Life doesn’t just magically happen for you. You don’t just automatically become a “ man” or a “ woman.” Those titles are earned, not given. It takes more than a number to become an a man or a woman. It takes more than age to become an adult. Wisdom comes from experience. Experience comes from putting yourself out into the world. Accepting and learning from your failures, celebrating your successes. Challenging yourself and trying new things. Humbling yourself to the wisdom of others and always striving for continued growth.

Everyone learns in different ways! I use these shapes with my students that are more visual learners 🖤🙏🏽 I wanted to share them with all of you! Screen shot them and use them if you ever need guidance with your breath, you can use your finger to trace or just imagine tracing, for some, this may be the worst/best. Notice what shape works for you, each person learns differently! It took me so long to learn that about myself but when I did, ain’t no stoppin me! 🖤🖤🖤 I get asked about breathing through the nose or mouth frequently... both are great! I find breathing in through the nose and out through the nose helps regulate your everyday unconscious breath, teaching you control throughout your day, and your yoga practice. If you choose to breath in through your nose and out your mouth bring more attention to the exhale, remembering not to force a looooong inhale, but a long extended exhale will help you relax and bring your heart rate down (don’t breath like this for too long cause it could cause lightheaded ness). When you continuously take deep inhalation’s the body may start sending signals that something’s not right/activating your fight or flight.🖤

A friend of mine shared a (partial) quote by Elizabeth Barrett Browning and it struck a cord in me:
“A little sunburnt by the glare of life.”
I’m definitely feeling a little sunburnt by life right now.
And a sunburn friggin hurts!!! But the good news is, is that it’ll eventually hurt less and less. Then all of a sudden one day the sunburn is gonna turn into a tan. And we all know how great a good tan is.
I found myself wanting to journal again the other night. My last entry was about a year ago and the one before that nearly 2 years ago.
Clearly, it’s not something I do on-the-reg. Most times I like to voice my would-be journal entries to someone. But some things you just can’t say to anyone or articulate it all just right when you have the opportunity to speak. So I write.
When change happens (as it always will) those in-between moments when you’re caught trying to catch your breath can be overwhelming. And when I read this quote it made me stop and think. Made me see the big picture. Sunburns hurt. Life can be glaring. But sunburns fade to tans and I thank God everyday that life is so bright. I wouldn’t want to live in darkness.
My body has been a yo-yo! 🌀I’ve teetered, gone up in weight, down in weight- lost muscle, gained muscle...
The point is if it doesn’t CHALLENGE you, it won’t CHANGE you!! —
I’ve had my moments where I’ve gone “off diet” (really what I mean is MEAL PLAN) or I just didn’t workout. I’m not perfect by any means! Hey 👋🏻 I HAVE MY DAYS TOO! It happens. All I can say is, this wonderful, hard-not so easy, up and down journey has brought and taught me nothing but:

Bare minimum of being consistent with diet - weekly changes, no refeeds & over doing cardio *AM check in mid July* | A month of simplicity, no cardio, refeeds each weekend, & “resetting” metabolism. *PM posing practice last night- 1.5 gal of water & 5 meals in*
Both off season looks. Two pound difference. Different mind sets. LEARN your body, what works for you won’t work for someone else. Find guidance from someone that wants to LEARN your body WITH you, not toss you a weight loss program & be closed off to what you’re saying YOUR body is telling you.
