“I didn’t want to go to a community college when I graduated from high school. I had my mind set on going to a four-year university. My mom encouraged me to consider starting at AACC and joining the Summer Bridge Program. I did, and I am thankful for this. Being on campus and partaking in this program, helped me grow a lot. I was able to switch from that high school mindset to a college mindset. I was able to meet so many amazing people. Overall, I love people. I am motivated to keep going because of this. I feel as though there is still more that I have to do, and more people that I can help. There is no reason for me to stop. I always have to keep going. I live by this.” -Yassi Dambita, Transfer Studies with a focus in Psychology/Information Services Desk

This #ACCTBT photo comes from 1973. Professor John Cise has been teaching physics and pre-engineering courses at ACC since we opened our first campus. He used to demonstrate principles of physics by dropping a bowling ball in his classroom, rolling it down a hallway, and dropping it out of a third-floor window to determine if size and weight caused various objects to fall at different speeds. Campus administrators had to lay down rules for these demonstrations, but they really got the point across to students! After 44 years, he's still inspiring students here at ACC.
Few job fields can match the strong projected growth and continued job security of nursing. At ACC, students gain more than just technical understanding — they also develop the communication, critical thinking, and interpersonal skills that are necessary to succeed in this important field.
