The Promise of Sublime Words ‘The Promise of Sublime Words’ started during the course of my doctoral studies, when I was preparing for the final exam in Art History. While getting lost on my adventures, I like to sit and ponder the moment, thinking about everything that has come together to give me the moment I’m living in. I don’t ponder the existence of the moment itself, but I consider everything that may have added to allowing this moment to happen. What brought you to the city you live in today? How did the knowledge you obtain bring you to take a certain perspective on the world? Who influenced you take chances and do the things you do today? If even one thing had been different, would you still be sitting here in this exact moment?
Robin Schwartz has been on a visual fable journey with her daughter Amelia for years now. The first 13 years of her life, Amelia was the subject of the photographs, later she became the co-creator of these open ended stories.
Robin has mentioned that at first, she wasn’t that comfortable being a mom- “It was scary. I know cats and dogs. But I had no idea it would be this hard.”
When having to work through the grief of losing both her mother as well as other relatives in a short period of time, she felt the need to spend more time with her daughter, have adventures together.
To make memories and create a legacy.
Ms Schwartz has said “In case I kicked the bucket, I wanted her to remember what we did together. I hope she sees these pictures and knows how much I care about her.” 🔹
I love this particular frozen moment in time and how everything will be different..in just one second.
Thank you, Robin and Amelia!
