Here’s my next (& late) edition of #FOLLOWFRIDAYART where I style & snap a piece of YOUR art in my home. Branching out from my own private collection and showcasing MORE art... more artists and let’s face it, I have almost any cushion colour to match whatever piece of art you throw at me 🤣
Let’s welcome Rachael from @millyandmaedesign You may have seen this print pop up on my feed last weekend when I styled a girls bed for a bit of fun. Here it is again in our guest bedroom. Colourful, fun and versatile. This print will look fab anywhere. Big high fives to Rachael for juggling her biz and being a Mumma. She’s new to Insta and would love a follow. 🙂
WHERE DID THE NAME MILLY AND MAE COME FROM?
The name Milly and Mae is a bit of a play on my kids names.. Miller and Riley Mae. I wanted something that was a constant reminder of my main goal... to be able to spend more time with my family. Which working from home allows me to do.
BIGGEST CHALLENGE ALONG THE WAY?
Biggest challenge has been just biting the bullet and making a start. Taking that first leap. It’s been a steep learning curve but im already learning so much from others in my position and the support from all other creatives has been amazing!
Guilty pleasure.. hmm.. trashy reality TV shows that in no way resemble reality, buckets of coffee and iced pink donuts!
THE BEST PART ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
The freedom to create what I want to create and the flexibility and endless possibilities that come with that. After 13 years in the one design company it’s refreshing to stretch my legs creatively.
Land of my Birth and Pride. The Royal 'ivie' known as "Bead" is one of the unique things i love about the Bini' people and culture.
Wear a normal Bini' man/woman an Ivie' and watch them automatically transform and carry themselves as Royalties. Oooo! and i love how the Ivie' makes our women so regal on their wedding day when adorned with it.
I actually cant wait😁
The Great Benin Kingdom where the King is truly King.
