Nothing like a nice “Teasy Light.” What is a teasy light you might ask?
A teasy light is a technique I like to think of as my more improved “Balayage” that is in foils, because lets face it we all know I LOVE foil work, that is my thing.
People tend to get Balayage confused all the time and think it’s a luck but, the truth is Balayage is just a technique. Which means “to swipe, to hand paint.” So Balayage can “Look” like anything the artist wants it to look like, it’s just hand painted no foils and a Clay based lightener.
I hoped on the Balayage train a few years ago when it really started becoming big but, my issue was just like every other fellow Hair Artist.. I wasn’t getting enough lift with these Balayage clay based lighteners and doing open air wasn’t helping. So just like every other stylists I started using foils and regular lightener, but I would notice it’s not a true balayage and my regular lightener would swell and cause lines and splotchiness.
So that brings me to where I am today with Teasy Lights. Not every technique works for every stylists we all prefer different things and that is fine, that’s what makes us artist. As you see this picture, my client has what a client would call a “Balayage look” because they were miseducated. I achieved this by taking one inch sections, slicing in half, then teasing the hair from the middle up, than I weave the top portion with a normal stitch not anything to fine like my typical baby-lights because we want more dimension. Then I place on a foil and blend my lightener up into the tease but never touching it. With the tease you can decide how high you want your look to go or how low. You see with my client in this picture we went pretty far up but still left a root. Hope this made a teasy light more understandable guys. More education will becoming in 2019 stay tuned!!! @olaplex @behindthechair_com @modernsalon @framar @schwarzkopfusa @joico @redken @goldwellus #warwicknyhairsalon#saloncentric#cosmoprofbeauty#licsensedtocreate#warwickny#chesterny#monroeny#westmilfordnj#vernonnj#845#845hair#orangecountynyhair#blondespecialist#colorist#extensions#correctivecolorspecialist#hairbestie
