Restoration Wednesday- do something today to restore your tired soul. Being outside has a powerful ability to wipe away stress. Sometimes all that's needed is to stand in awe. The world around us is filled with wonder if we pause to look for it. These moments make us feel smaller and our stress seem lighter. Nature is a gift, offered by a Creator who cares about the restoration of your soul.
"Although I do love oceans, deserts, and other wild landscapes, it is only mountains that beckon me with the sort of painful magnetic pull to walk deeper and deeper into their beauty. They keep me continuously wanting to know more, feel more, see more. To become more." -- Victoria Erickson
And God made me woman,
with long hair,
nose and a woman's mouth.
and soft hollows
and dug into me,
and made me a workshop for
God delicately wove my nerves,
the number of my hormones,
composed my blood
and injected me with it
so that it would irrigate
my entire body;
and so ideas were born,
instinct. Gently created
by hammer blows of human breath
and the drilling motion of love,
the thousand and one things that make
me a woman every day,
that make me proud when I get up
every morning and I bless my sex. ~Gioconda Belli
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of marriage. Thank You for giving me someone to love. Thank You for giving me such a beautiful depiction of what unconditional love is like and please help me to be able to love like You. Thank You Lord for the husband You have given me. I pray that You stay at the center of our relationship, transforming us and guiding us always. I pray that we would be a team for You to use to share the light of Your gospel with the world. Please protect my marriage from the destruction of the enemy. Guard us against temptation. Make us stronger everyday. Fill our hearts with desire for each other and a passion that will never cease. Bless our marriage in Jesus’ name Amen!
She finds wonder in the mundane,
has hope despite what she has faced
and sees beauty in the insipid.
It is just the way she is.
To her, the world is magic
and life the most precious of gifts. ~Becca Lee
She brought out the storm in people, because she knew wherever there were dark skies and wild winds, lied a truth. A truth that described how much love one can leave behind the moment they accept all the pain they have lived
And that is all she ever wanted. For everyone around her to embrace their storms and make them fall in love with their own violent winds.
I'm not that kind of beautiful
where you can just look at me and say
I'm the kind of beautiful where
I watch sweet movies and brush away tears
then attempt to write sappy poetry
I sing as loud as my lungs allow
when nobody is home
then quietly hum my favorite tune all day long
I get completely absorbed in books
then feel shattered when it all ends
i'll never abandon a friend
but i'll understand if you abandon me
i'm the kind of beautiful that stays up late
to watch my favorite show on the history channel
and eat my chocolate bunny
i'll get dressed and notice my jeans are getting tighter
then cry while singing my favorite song to cheer me up
i'm the kind of beautiful that
bites my nails and nubs because I get anxiety
and steps out of your way in the hallways
i'm the kind of beautiful
that's not exactly gorgeous
but beautiful. -REM
🖌️ How Would You Paint Me?
If you were an artist
how would you paint me?
With deep solid strokes
or your brush sweeping softly?
Would you paint me by number,
quickly fill in the lines
or sketch me first,
taking your time?
Would you use vibrant colors
or plain shades of gray?
Would you change me in any way?
Would you hang me proudly
and gaze at me often
or tuck me away
until I'm forgotten?
~Christy Ann Martine
