I haven’t had nearly enough mountain time this summer. All the fire bans got me discouraged. What’s camping without a campfire? A little throwback to this beautiful spot I captured last summer. Dreaming of warm, Colorado mountain days...
The anticipation is too much! *Must be ready to eat upon landing!* We’ve had so many hummers this year. It’s been a nice hummer summer. 😊 But they aren’t very nice to each other! We have 4 feeders and loads of yummy flowers, but they all fight over this one feeder. Never seen 2 eat at once on it. Silly hummers!
The morning I took this photo, I woke up in Denver and it was just about 95 degrees, even stronger in the sun. We drove up Mt. Evans byway and reached this point called Summit Lake around 13,000 feet above sea level. From climbing in elevation, the temperature dropped to around 40 degrees, while still sunny, yet pretty windy. With over another 1000 feet until the top of the mountain, can you guess what the temperature was at the top?
Find out tomorrow.
Here is some #mountainporn video for you! Seriously though...if you would have told me when I first moved to Colorado, years ago, that I would be able to look out at each mountain and name them, I would have said you were crazy! #mountaincrushmonday#coloradolove
